Hi everyone. Happy Friday. Another week has zoomed by, and it's time again for Friday Face Off over at Nicole's blog and also Friday Lunch break over at Gillena's blog.
I hope you don't mind me starting with some more bird photos. You might remember that last Friday I showed the parent bluebirds feeding some babies, but you could not see any babies, just the parents at the opening of the birdhouse. Now you can see those babies. Well, you don't see them when you're nearby but if you step in the house and zoom in with your camera you can see them.
The baby bluebirds in my birdhouse are getting big. I took these photos a few days ago, so they're even more developed now and might even be getting ready to fledge. Or maybe that have fledged and I missed it, which would be sad since I wanted to see that.
I see 2 faces in one of the photos, and the babies' eyes are open. I read that the babies open their eyes at 8 days, so the birds must be at least 8 days old when I had taken these photos. They're obviously even older now. I hope I didn't miss when they fledged. I read that the parents take care of the young for a short period of time after that too, but so far I haven't seen any signs of that either.
I also have a page from my envelope journal to share for Neet's challenge over at
Art Journal Journey. If you join in you know her challenge is
It Must Have Wings.
I had some left over music paper scraps (back from Vicki's February's Music challenge at AJJ) that I die cut into circles. I also stamped a Dina Wakely image, added a tissue paper head over the image's actual head, and I added the TH stamped, colored and die cut bird It's blue, and that's my connection to this post. Finally I cut a little balloon and added all the words on my page.
I hope everyone has a great weekend ahead. We could get more showers at my house (another at least partially wet weekend-it's a not so good trend lately) so I hope your weekend is sunny and bright.

I absolutely adore bluebirds! Those photos are fabulous, Erika.
It is very possible, since the bluebirds have fledged so early in the season that they will have a second brood, so you may get a chance to see this all over again. Such a pleasure! Such a privilege! Happy bluebirding - David
...beautiful visitors!
Luv your bluebirds.
Happy you linked to AFFF
Much♡love
Love those babies!
Adorable photos
It's so sweet to see one of the young birds opening its beak. They're such beautiful birds. It never ceases to amaze me. Your page is so beautiful, too! Interesting how you included the music for the child and the bird. Good weekend!
Hugs, Elke

What a treat to see those bluebirds! You've snapped some amazing photos with them! We're in an area where we don't see these bluebirds and they're so pretty with their rich blue color! Feeding the babies is super cute! Your envelope journal works perfectly with your photos today! The musical papers work in here very nicely with the bird theme for sure! I love it! Glad you're able to use some of those left-overs my friend! Have a lovely weekend!
Oh this is so awesome. Babies in the house. Lovely art too, thank you for sharing with FFO.
You are so lucky to have witnessed this, Erika! Your photos are wonderful and I hope that David is right in saying that you might have a second chance in seeing this again. Have a lovely weekend, hugs - Carola
Wouldn't it be great if David was right and you get to see a second brood this year.
Love your journal entry. That bird is so sweet. I haven't seen one of those in ages. You are really creative! This is another perfect entry for Neet's theme at AJJ. I left a comment on The Cat.
Erika, how good are those photos? I am in awe of what you have achieved and shown to us today, I can see the tiny birds with their beaks wide open as they wait to be fed. How marvellous, you must be so proud of those pictures.
Love the continued journey with your envelope book. Such a good idea to cut shapes from the music paper - they look much better than just a rectangle.
Great how the little bird (fab image) is saying 'hi' to the figure above. Your colour palette is great - love brown and pink or brown and blue shades.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps have you done the markings across the base of the envelope or were they there? Great interest!
This is just soooo special Erika to be able to enjoy blue birds in your yard. had me smiling'
Happy weekend -hugs
I had bluebirds very early in the year, but haven't seen them since. Thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoyed the weather today.
These photos are exquisite. What a treat you have been given in being able to see these beautiful creatures begin their lives. And the color! everything is so very beautiful! I love this!
I haven't seen all that many bluebirds yet this year.
The bluebird family is so adorable, Erika! Your photography skills are excellent, I must say. 😊 Your envelope journal page is just lovely--I'm sure you'll think of these birdie neighbors when you look at your colored bird in the future! Anita xx
Big mouths, very cute! And I love the page, too!!!! Hugs, to a great... already Saturday!
Nice to see the bluebird family Erika and hopefully you will get to see the young ones out of the nest.
Oooh, wow, great photos! And beautiful artwork.
Aww, how exciting to watch them grow! It’s amazing how quickly baby birds develop—one day they’re tiny fluff balls, and the next they’re stretching their wings, ready to fly. I hope you get to witness their first flight, but even if you missed it, what a gift to have hosted them in your birdhouse. Nature is so magical!
How wonderful to have baby bluebirds right in your own backyard! It must be such a joy to watch them grow day by day. Fingers crossed you get to see them fledge—it’s such a special moment. But even if they’ve already taken off, how amazing that you got to be part of their journey from hatchlings to fledglings!
Your bluebird photos are truly beautiful—there’s something so special about watching nature’s quiet moments unfold. It’s wonderful how you connect your art with what you observe around you, making everything feel so alive. I just shared a new travel post. I am excited for you to read it. Thank you. Happy weekend.
Beautiful. We don't have bluebirds in the UK
How lovely to see the bluebirds ... great photographs.
Enjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
