Keeping It Simple

Hi everyone. It's Tuesday so that means it's time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday.

First, let me thank everyone who joined  our Deep in The Forest challenge. There was some great pieces  shared. ❤

For the next 2 weeks we're asking for you to create some art and Keep It Simple.

I decided to go with a journal page even though I think this challenge would  be easier (for me) if I was making  a card.  I just feel like my page isn't finished. 😏 However, I did hold myself back and didn't add in lots of other bits. Grin.

I began by using a light blue glaze to color the background. Then I took a similar toned and  thicker acrylic  paint and a stencil to add a few basic details to the background. I then added a 49 and Market film frame. The butterfly is actually cut from cloth. I was cleaning last week and came across a couple of packets of cut fabric butterflies that I forgot I had. I glued this one down on my paper, and then even though I wanted to embellish it, I held back and decided to keep it simple and left it as it is.

I finished by stamping the quote (from an old Cornish Heritage Farm set) and added a few little plastic bubbles.

Since the butterfly has wings, I am also joining up to Neet's It Must have Wings challenge at Art Journal Journey.

I hope you like to go simple and join us at TIOT for this challenge.

Gorgeous journal page, I love the fabric butterfly and the photo strip image behind balances it so perfectly. Thanks so much for having me as a guest designer at TIoT.

It was very simple for you, Erika. I love how you used the butterfly coming out of the frame. And I have a thing for fabric, so that was great. It's also perfect for Neet's theme at AJJ.

I think you made the right choice when you decided to leave the butterfly as it was. It is beautiful, the colours are gorgeous and it needs nothing else in my opinion.
How lucky to find those abric biutterflies, so much you can do with them.
Thanks for joining in with my theme again at AJJ Erika.
Hugs, Neet xx

This is very wonderful! Oh, I wish I had more time and... creativity!!!! That is missing, too. Study is so dry atm, it is horrible. Things I´ll never need, so: Refreshing to see yours!!! Hugs and thank you!

A beautiful page and blue butterfly Erika. I know what you mean about wanting to add more but this looks amazing as it is.

CAS is always a hard thing for me too and it really doesn't matter what the size. Most of the time I still believe it's in the eye of the beholder when it comes to this and I think you did an amazing job! Very smart to keep it in the blue tones and work with just that! I love it! (Sorry for my lateness as I'm trying to catch up a bit!) HUGS
