Travel Journal

I didn't keep a travel journal in Costa Rica- literally no time.
But I have a few more pages from my Colorado trip journal to show you- I finished it up the other day.
Finally.
Took me quite awhile for me.
And I didn't get as much done during my journey as I usually do.
This journal is some journaling, some collaging and some things like stickers.
A few little folders that hotel keys and other receipts came in.
I also some images I stamped and cut out and added to the pages.
I found this sheet of old postage stamps at an art sale-with all 5 states on it.  So I was bad and copied them and cut them out and used them for this 4 Corners page. And I punched and added some post cards,
Add a restaurant coaster  and some pictures I cut off a bag.
Stickers, little clear word blocks, stamped images.
I also cut out of those free tourist brochures you can pick up at hotels and other tourist places.
How about a grocery store receipt. Its all part of the trip.
Anything that helps pull the trip together and jog a few memories down the road.
You know, put a smile on your face down the road too.

Next time I take a trip (though I am not exactly sure what that trip will be right now),
I am going to try a new form of journal.
I love this style,
but I think it is time to shake things up a bit.
Not sure what I want to do for a travel journal yet though.
Any suggestions?
Have a great day!

More Travel Journal Pages

Thought I would show you a few more pages from the Colorado Travel journal.

This project is still under construction!
A lot of little things to do today-and I am going to finish painting my cabinet doors.
I am.
Will have more to say tomorrow.
Happy Monday!

Relaxing with some Happy Time

Yesterday started off as a bit humid but beautiful day and then clouded in- just like they said it would.(Unusual for our weather people.)
I decided I would spend part of my afternoon out on my screen porch working on my travel journal that I barely got to during my trip.
Here's a few pages.
My travel journals aren't really scrap books-though sometimes I put in photos- but more scrap collages. I like to tell the story of my journey with memories and bits and pieces I accumulate during my travels.
It is easy to collect lots of free bits and pieces during a trip. I do buy a few postcards too.
I also use my craft stash and make a few pages-some before I go, some when I get home to finish the journal.

I often include the brown bags the postcards come in as little store pockets in my book.
Recycling for a good cause I think.

More another day.
Still need to finish this little book.
Have a great Monday!

Travel Journal

Finished up the travel journal yesterday.
Got it ready for traveling.
Did a bit of fixing and arranging and then will add more while we're traveling on our BIG road trip.
Finally, I'll add the finishing touches after we get home.
Thought I'd show you a few pages right now.
Too bad the light is so nasty here.
I like using a 3 ring binder because then I can rearrange pages as I want once I get rolling on the trip.
I also liked using some tags and some 7Gypsies papers. Lets me put this together pretty quick and has some great base pages.
Then I stamp and add some die cuts and stickers.
I'll add things like postcards and make collages by cutting up brochures.
I don't use the 7Gypsies pages as they come. I have to kick them up.
I take with me a little bag with some scrap paper and I have a little mini-lunch box that has some glue and markers etc. The basics. I don't make this book to be a perfect volume. But because its full of flaws and real  moment pieces, it makes it more perfect, I think.
It is an honest little volume.
How to do make travel journals- if you make them?
