Today we visit Le Louvre-closed Tuesdays remember. Its a gorgeous day here in NH but wasn't so sunny in Paris that day.

Photos include-
1. I don't know the artist (but I could look it up in Rick Steves) but this huge painting is on the wall opposite of the rather tiny Mona Lisa.

2. In one part of the Louvre are many French artifacts including this very cool fireplace mosaic and the mirror above. I love the reflection of Katie in the mirror over it.

3. The Louvre is in one of the Palaces along the Seine- the main one before Versailles but I'm not very helpful since I can't tell you the name off the top of my head...but its next to the Tulleries. Its gigantic! Looking out the window you can see these statues which were along the roofline.
4. Us in line to go into the museum.

5. Once you go inside to main lobby you can look up into the famous glass pyramid. That's what I have shown here.

Yahoo-it Friday evening. I have the whole weekend ahead of me. I can sleep in for 2 mornings. Its suppose to be sunny all Friday. I did a bit of cleaning in my studio today- still too full and too messy but its a start...of a very long process. I got paid today. I bought a crepe pan and this weekend I am going to make banana and nutella crepes like I had in Paris. Oh, it is glorious! I love Friday nights. And I love posting my photos for you online. Vive le Paris!

Having a blast posting these photos and doing some cropping this week at night.
Came home today ready to do some art- because although I haven't totally shunned the studio, I have not been that productive lately. Really trying to finish last years scrap book- oh they get so big and I'm no good at weeding out that many photos...but today when I went to work found out I was about of double sided tape. Tomorrow I shall have to get some, but made it difficult to do much today. A shame. Want to do some art rather than just looking at it on blogs...but then again...work has been good and I've been busy. Stopped at Michael's Craft's today and bought some of the new KC paper punches-they were on sale-got the trees and the fleur de lys which I like both, and I tried them out. Yesterday was out late as Katie had the dentist and we went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner-yum, yum and fattening...been cropping photos and mounted my English rubber stamps (unmounted Crafty Individuals and paper Arsty I bought at Blade in London)...tonight I'm tired, being Thursday and the clock changing, so this weekend I will focus on playing in my studio. Better than mucking around in the mud outside.

Feels like Paris

A gray day, but a bit warmer...snow is melting...very little signs of yesterdays white left. That is good. Photos-top is a streets sign on the river side of the Louvre, then there's the street artist near Le Louvre, the Metro stop on Isle de Citi (maybe that's even close for spelling) and then an artist painting inside Le Louvre. The weather today felt like the weather in Paris, and I'm still floating on my travel cloud...thinking about the next trip...always happens- you go away and then come home and want to go again.

Yes, it is March. You can eaisly tell. The ficklest month of year. Yesterday we had sun and wonderfully warm skies and today- it snowed. All day until just 30 minutes ago or so. Ah yes, it is March.

Finished reading a great book-The Sharper the Knife, the Less You Cry by Kathleen Flinn. Now back to In A Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson which I brought with me on the trip- as I was pretty close to finishing the Sharper Knife book, (that's what happens when you don't open a book for a whole week and then start reading...you buzz right through a good book and then want to get to the next one too). Anyhow, not much else new here besides the weather. I worked on photos last evening so here's some more from my travels. Today, we are in France.

Love these lightposts in Wndsor. They have a crown on the top! I need to crop the photo, but haven't done that yet.

Like almost 60 degrees, as was yesterday. Dave and I took Harley to the beach to walk, had lunch at a great Mexican restaurant in Kittery, went to Nashua afterwards to do our errands and had some greasy barbecue at Famous Dave's in Manchester. We were all over the place. It was a great day-relaxing but productive. I had a blast. And I loved getting outside and the weather!

Today is also gorgeous, but I've been home cleaning a bit, scrappy to finish up last years vacation photos and just plain relaxing. We changed the clocks so tonight will stay light late but the morning will be tough.

I can't believe last Friday we were still away- or that I'm still in travel longing mode. This always happens, you come home for a few days and you long to go away again-not that I want to go right now-but I wish I had another trip planned...but no, I need to pay for this one first. So I live in my memories and playing with my scrapbooking...

One week ago, of course not on New Hampshire time, we were in the Eiffel Tower- all 3 floors starting with the Summit.

One day ago I was driving home with a hot cheese stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut after celebrating and spending an outrageous amount of money at my favorite craft store in Massachusetts. But it was my birthday and the sun was out although it was a bit chilly for March.

One hour ago I finished my take with me travel book-I had a few blank pages so I finished them up now that I'm home in the studio which is a MESS. (I really should do a mass amount of weeding but I love my supplies.)

One minute ago I was writing this blog.

More snow today- we got more than 12 inches and had a snow day, but I guess there was snow as far south as Alabama from this storm...wow-some years winter won't end but I must say it was nice having a snow day and an extra day home after the trip and vacation to relax, put the suitcases away and putter about a small bit...

Jet-Lag Hangover

Yesterday was a 22 hour day-we got up at 6 a.m. in Paris-caught our Eurostar back to London to fly home at 9:13, took the Dot-2-Dot out to Heathrow Airport from St. Pancras and flew home on a 4:05 London time flight. It was 10 p.m. our time by the time we got the shuttle to Portsmouth and then drove home. And me, having passed out while waiting to use the bathroom on the plane- broke my glasses and got a cut on my cheek, nothing serious though. So today- I am lacking a lot of sleep- since I went to bed at 11 NH time and woke up at 3 a.m.-which is 9 a.m. in Paris...oh jetlag.

But we had a GREAT trip. here's a few assorted night photos I took- the first 2 from the London eye a week ago and then the Arc du Triomphe Tuesday night, as well as an Eiffel Tour view from the top of the Arc.

Will talk more when I am up and awake...have lots of photos to post in the next few weeks too.
