Some Photos to Show You

Yesterday it was 95 degrees and humid. (Like 36 degrees Celsius). The AC in my classroom wasn't turned on until almost 10:30 so I sweated all morning as it got hot early. Then I went out into a hot car after I finally cooled off, and came home to a hot house. There was a little breeze, which felt wonderful. But it was Friday night, I was tired, and no one (except the dogs) was home.So I stopped and splurged on a take out lobster roll for dinner and watched a bunch of the Ken Burns Roosevelt series and worked on a photo book of Iceland pictures on my laptop.
Today its is cooler but still a little humid. The hubby can't lift more than 10 pounds since he had a medical test the other day. We've decided to go run errands. Not exciting, but needed. I've been waiting for my first paycheck of the year and putting off things until it came. Kind of glad its going to be a low key mellow weekend since next week at work is going to be a killer 5 days.
I thought I would show you some more Iceland photos since I seem to have gotten way behind the game with those.
I'm keeping it a little arty today.
Cool log wall and then some graffiti.

Norse gods painting from a museum exhibit.

 Some local folk craft.

A giant crewel work scroll in progress.

Graffiti and some of the glass in the cool Music and Arts center on the waterfront of Reykjavik.

Children's art.
Steel beams that washed out a BIG bridge during a volcanic eruption. The eruption didn't effect the beams, but it caused melt of a glacier which then caused a huge rush of water which did wash the out. Amazing how the force of the water twisted them. They were then put out at a rest area and some itchy fingers have decorated them over the years.
Hope you enjoyed your views today.
and
Hope you are also having a nice weekend yourself.

Oh how fun. I truly enjoyed this look back at Iceland through your lens. It showed me some of what you find interesting, too. You have such an eclectic and unique taste, I was thrilled to see each photo as it appeared. The bridge beam is unusual, but that Norse Gods painting is fantastic.

Hope you have a good weekend, and please don't either of you lift anything too heavy.

I better not let my hubby see that log wall Erika... he's been cutting logs over the last two weeks!
Great to see your Iceland photo's. My daughter is wanting us to visit there and I must admit I rather like the look of it, although I don't like to think about going somewhere colder than Scotland. I struggle here wearing so many layers in winter.
Have a wonderful weekend... hugs to you xoxo

What a treat to see all of your photos. Iceland is a place Buddy and I have always wanted to go. Being that tomorrow is the anniversary of 9-11, Ice land made me think of the group of my friends who were on a tour of Iceland then the planes hit....and they were stranded. All airspace was closed. It was days before they got back. I can't believe it was 15 years ago. We, too, lost a family member they marriage. It is still so vivid. genie
