A Bonus Day

Hi everyone.  It's a dark and soon to be very wet Sunday here. But yesterday it was just beautiful.
The hubby and I took the dogs and headed to a town near us, Wolfeboro, and walked some of the rail trail.

It's a great walk as it is very flat and has some beautiful views. The part we walked passes 3 lakes: Winnipesaukee, Crescent Lake and also Lake Wentworth. It also follows along the Smith River.

We walked about 3 miles  (4.8 km) round trip, but the trail goes on much further. We needed to go to the grocery store,  and we also wanted to get home not too late as my daughter and her beau were coming for the night. But we also wanted to walk far enough to feel like we had a real walk.
I took several other photos too which I will show you another day, but I wanted to show you another Halloween page from my Halloween art journal.
Hard to believe this month is almost over.
I must say other than the shortening daylight hours, I am looking forward to November. It's very chopped up at school (I don't have a normal week all month), and it's also a month with one of my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving.
But I am getting way ahead of myself. Here's a spread in my Halloween journal.
I am linking up at Moo Mania which has a Halloween theme for a few more days.
Hope everyone has had (or is having) a wonderful weekend.

Yesterday was such a nice day. I was in most of the day teaching a workshop so I'm happy to go on your walk vicariously. Really beautiful scenery and color. If the winds are as heavy as predicted, there won't be many colorful leaves left. I love your Halloween page. Pumpkin Head is very handsome, indeed. Stay dry!

What a gorgeous walk! And you're getting great seasonal color. We have a trail on a former train line here, but not so many lakes. They really add to the beauty of your scenery :)

LOVE the gorgeous spread in your Halloween journal. The photos from your trip out are fantastic, it all looks so beautiful, I would love to walk there, too. I had a lazy day at home, though, and enjoyed it. Have a good, new week at school, have fun! Hugs, Valerie

The photos from your walk look beautiful. The scenery is lovely and am I right in thinking its in walking distance to where you live.
Your journal pages are great fun, with Mr looking quite a gent even though he has been subject to his Mrs putting a spell on him.
Hope you had a good Sunday, our day nearly over.

Wow, what beautiful photos and such a lovely walk! It looks like you've had a fab weekend 😁. It's been sunny here too, so we've been out walking and meeting up with friends - such fun! Now all I have to do is catch up on everyone's blog posts ...lol 😉. Beautiful Halloween pages, the sentiment made me smile - he definitely is a handsome chap with his pumpkin head ...lol 😉. Wishing you a happy new week! J 😊

Wolfeboro, NH, is a great place, Erika, and coincidentally we were there last Sunday after we took a cruise on Lake Winnie. We didn’t have time for a long walk, but enjoyed seeing the photos from yours.

Good morning-wow what a gorgeous walk-I usually like a 3 mile walk too-just about right for me-such lovely views with the lakes-and October is always so beautiful with the dark blue sky and leaf colors.
Loving your Halloween pages-neat idea for a journal book. I agree October is just flying by way way too fast.
Have a good week ahead hugs Kathy

What a fantastic spread - the page on the right side is so funny! Love it! Thank you for joining us at Moo Mania & More dear Erika and thank you for the wonderful photos of your walk! Really beautiful with this colorful foliage.A beautiful and peaceful landscape!
We had a stromy weekend - and now as the storm is over it even had a little bit of first snow and it is really cold outside.
We have a short week here - school just today and tomorrow this week.
Wish you a Happy Hallooween - but I hope we read us again till Halloween!

How in the world do you manage to post every day? I went to check in on your newest and realized there were six or seven I hadn't seen! I love your pumpkin head man and his beautifully dressed partner and all these wonderful scenes of the countryside near your home. So lovely!
