Second on the Second

Happy Monday everyone. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Other than the weekend going too fast, mine was good. Saturday was very busy running errands, but it was good to get them all done so Sunday I could relax all day. I actually spent a lot of time playing in the kitchen yesterday. I did some baking and made my family a nice Sunday dinner. I think they appreciated it since I don't usually fuss so much at the end of the weekend.
But I did not have hardly any art time, which seems to be happening a lot on the weekends lately. I  think I need to find a day dedicated just for art time pretty soon. :)
I do have a spread for the new October challenge at Art Journal Journey. This month Elke is our hostess, and her theme is Landscapes of the  Soul.
This is a page from my Night Journal. Most of the journal pages are about the science of the night sky, but I always want a little magic too. There's something about the night I don't want to explain with facts.
So here's my page. It started with the music sheet background paper.
And it is also the Second of October so it is time to stop by Bleueard and Elizabeth's blog and repost something from the past.  So I thought I would show you a post from 2013. Back then my daughter was in college and I made lots of cards and sent them to her. She actually saved them all and we have them them in a big box here at home.
Here's a few of the cards from the post.

You can check out the full post here: 2013.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Love the magic page. Especially the cat with wings. I love looking at the night sky. The awe and the mystery one feels while gazing at the stars. I think you captured that well.

Your Halloween cards are fun. So cool your daughter kept them all. Chilly this morning. Enjoy the sunshine!

I am happy to hear that your weekend was a really good one! I love the night pages - you brought MAGIC to the pages in a wonderful way you made those pages out of "NOTHING" - art- and masterfully crafted. I laughed at the "There's something about the night I don't want to explain with facts." naughtily thinking Susi ---
A beautiful entry for inner landscapes Erika! Thank you!

You made fabulous Halloween cards in the past. Great that your daughter saved them!
She seems to be a sensitive and kind person - like her parents! You can be very proud to have such a nice family!
I am happy about my people here as well - had a wonderful day with Dad, his wife and my little family here. I begin to appreciate this moments! I think I get old.....
Happy new week!

What a simply wonderful example of Elke's theme. I'm having a bit of trouble interpreting it, but I guess I'm a bit stuck by what it actually means.

I am SO glad you posted this look back at Halloween in 2013. You made lovely cards, and I was super impressed your daughter saved each and every one of them. What a joy that must have been for you as the giver. Thanks for sharing these gems as we look back at your Halloween cards for your second look on the 2nd.

How interesting that you have a Night journal. I like your idea of having a themed journal. This is great with the winged cat and the fairy. It does look like a magical page.
What fun to see your cards.
I just love the one with the little ghost in "It was a dark and stormy night".

The Halloween cards are fabulous! Homemade cards are the best. The dark and stormy night one with the cutest ever skellie-ghost is adorable! I think your magic journal page looks fab too. The background music papers are perfect :)

Its a fantastic magical page. There is something about the night sky that can fire the imagination, even if its just a bright shining moon.
The Halloween card s are great as well, it was good that your daughter saved them all, it shows how special they were for her.
