A Modern Girl

Hello everyone. Today my page for Art Journal Journey and my Vintage or Modern Challenge is this trying to go modern page. It's not a very complicated page, but I  couldn't figure out what else to do with it. But modern is often about clean simple lines without a lot of extra. So voila. This is what you get.
I started with this painting by Paul Klee that I found in a very old art book I have. Then I added this modern gal that I cut out of the sewing pattern book I have. A stamped quote and some doodled lines complete my page.
BIG thanks to all of you who are linking up to AJJ! There's some great inspiration and art over there if you haven't checked it out.
I am also linking up to ARDM. It is day 15 and we're halfway there!
I hope those of you down south and west have warmed up, gotten power and and survived the snow/ice. I've seen images of the storm on tv.  It's too early for this, isn't it? We have the cold now. This morning it is 16 degrees F (about -9 degrees C). And tonight, the snow is coming.
Hurrah! (NOT!)

Happy Thursday!

The quote is great and the background inspired by Paul Klee is gorgeous!
Tonight the snow is coming at your home? We have it cold outside, but no snow the next days, I am glad!

Fun to think that in 50 years your modern girl will be vintage. I'm not looking forward to the snow. Way too early. I heard the blame lies at the feet of those who put up Christmas decorations early! Stay warm.

Your modern girl on the Klee background looks really fancy Erika! OMG that's freezing cold - boah! I fear we get this coldness next week as well!

Another fantastic inspiration for your theme! And time flies again this month, doesn't it?

Sendung you "warming " wishes!

Hugs, Susi

I like Klee, and I'm thinking I need that skirt lol Well, not really, as it wouldn't suit me, but it is a great skirt :)

Here in Memphis we got maybe 1/2" of snow and some ice on the roads. All that's left of that is a bit of the snow. They didn't even cancel schools today, and they do that at the drop of a hat. I hear we're expecting a high of 60 on Saturday lol, so if you don't like the weather here don't worry. It'll change by the next day ;)

Another great modern page, the girl against the Klee background looks very snazzy and the quote is perfect for it too.

Stay safe and warm, I don't know what is happening to the weather, but those temperatures sound grim, even for this time of year....

Hoping to play catch up, so I'm visiting AEDM and AJJ first. What a lovely take on your theme, Erika. Repetition is one of the best ways to bring any art together. Your Klee background goes perfectly with your moderrn girl. I'm loving it. Seems like your temps and my temps were similar during that time. Thanks for sharing this with AJJ, dear AJJ host.

Your page made me think two things, Erika: "The more things change the more they stay the same"; and that fashion repeats itself every 20 years or so. But they forget to mention that there's always a new twist. So the moth-eaten favorites I saved for so long are never quite right - lol. Now I donate. Eileen xoxo
