Style Is Eternal

Hello everyone. Friday has arrived and today it's time to start the second quarter of the  year at my school. And it is already November. Wow, the year is sure going by quickly.
Today  I'm back with another journal page for the latest challenge at Art Journal Journey
I am sticking with Vintage again, for the Vintage or Modern theme.
I began my page by layering bits of 3 different tissue papers. Then I added some texture by using a stencil and molding paste. Once that dried I rubbed some silver and grey paint over it. These stylish 1950's dressed ladies are cut out of the giant sewing pattern book I bought on markdown back in the summer. There are lots of pages of vintage clothing examples for patterns. So I think you might be seeing a few more vintage styles from me this month. :)
And with all the texture paste and matte medium glueing down tissue, my page has a little bend, so please excuse the letters that are not at all straight in the photo, but are mostly straight on the page.
And since today is November 2, I am joining in over at Second on the Second on Elizabeth's blog.
My page today is from November of 2015. It definitely has an autumn feel. Here in my world there is barely a green leaf left right now. And we are supposed to get heavy rain again today so I bet  many of the remaining leaves will be coming down today.
I chose this page because this is what it will look like once that rain arrives.
You can read the entire post from that day here.
And lastly, I am linking up to
Create Art Every Day  with today's post.

Thanks for visiting and I hope your day is going great.

Your stylish ladies look like they are ready for the upcoming holidays. The background looks very festive. And more rain and bare trees. As you said, better than snow. Have a great day.

Fun page. I remember those huge pattern books. My Mom was an avid seamstress so we spent lots of time looking through them to find just the right dress.

It sounds like you season is about to change. Here by the Bay we don't have much seasonal change. Rain or no rain- that about covers it.

I love your vintage fashion page Erika, ladies always seemed to dress with care and style back then. I have to admit to preferring today's look of jeans and sweaters etc.
It was a beautiful autumn page to revisit as well.

both creations are wonderful... i like the stenciled star-like elements between the vintage clothes... and the 2nd/2nd page really was worth to be brought out again!

Those vintage 50s styles wouldn't suit me at all with their tiny waists lol, but I do like the style on other people. These days I see some people wearing vintage styles from different eras in their daily lives, and I'm glad I live in a time when clothing choices are more flexible and eclectic :)

I love your page for Vintage or Modern, Erika. The bare tree and bird piece is perfect for this weather. It's chilly where I am too. I can't imagine where you'll find time for AEDM, but you're off to great start! Eileen xox

OH, OH wow. I adore this vintage beauty. I don't know what you paid for that pattern book, but it was SO worth it!! I love it. It's SO different from your second look, though. I can't decide which I like better, because they are both so different and both so original. First, thanks for sharing the vintage entry with us at Art Journal Journey, then thanks for sharing the second one with us as your second look on the 2nd.

Two fabulous pieces, this is such a great theme! Your fashion page is just perfect for it, great layering and elements make for a wonderful composition!!

On a different note, your coins just arrived! Wow, I am so impressed, the stitching on them looks amazing!! I had never pinned you down as a sewing machine wizz…. Thanks also for all the other goodies!! I am still running after myself trying to catch up after a month away, but promise yours will go into the post in the next few days, - thank you for your patience...
