T Stands for Black and White-Well Mostly

Hi everyone. Happy second Tuesday of December. Besides the usual things that fill the week, I've been busy getting more holiday decorations up, baking a couple of batches of holiday cookies and watching a whole lot of  TV. Between an early sunset and several cloudy, rainy or snowy days, I've had some chances to catch up on a few films and shows on Netflix I have been wanting to see.

I did change up my walk one day last week (before we got all the snow) and headed for the beach rather than walking on my road. It was chilly enough for a winter coat, hat and gloves, but otherwise it was a glorious day.

When I uploaded my photos over to my computer,  I switched a few over to black and white, and I thought they were just as, if not more, interesting that way.

I had to go get my allergy shot in Portsmouth, so I went over to Rye Beach,  in Rye, New Hampshire, which is  the beach closest to my allergist.

And after my walk, just down from the beach, I pulled into a roadside turnoff to get some more ocean views.

Maddie was in doggie daycare that day, so Pete came for a ride and also a walk.  He either wanted me back in the car or was ready to go!

And when I arrived home it was late enough for an afternoon cup of tea, and I even made that photo black and white.

My snowman mug doesn't look as festive without  color, so I think the original looks better.

This is my ticket for T this week over at  Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog.

I also wanted to share some Happy Mail I received from CJ on Saturday, but because of the snowstorm, sat in mailbox until we cleared it out on Sunday.

The  pups are modeling these great orange bandanas she sent for them.

Maddie was a calmer model than Pete
. CJ, I love the size of these because Maddie has a very large neck  (not sure if that is her Chow, American Staffordshire Terroir, Lab, German Shepard or combo background), and this bandana fit her fantastic!  (She looks smaller in most photos but she is rather a tank, especially when all 68 pounds of her decides to act like a 10 pound lapdog. Smile.
I had to bribe Pete with a treat to get him to sit still. Orange is his color!

Maddie outside!

And Pete. The bandanas certainly stand out!

Thank you CJ for your thoughtful happy mail!

Have a great T day everyone, and happy week too! Stay safe. Wear your mask.
Thanks for visiting.

Black and white images can be so effective — I like the way you have chosen them here. Very dramatic. You are lucky to have access to such nice beaches.

Wonderful photos, black and white as well as colour. It's always good to see the sea, I miss the sea here. The doggies look great in their new bandanas. Spell checker wants me to write 'bananas'! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

Wow. Those photos in black and white were almost haunting. Some made the water not seem so cold, while others looked almost foreboding. They were absolutely STUNNING. Thanks for sharing these with us for T this Tuesday, dear Erika. I agree that the mug looks MUCH better in color.

Loving the black and white photos and it looks like you had a lovely walk! The snowman mug is adorable and it was fun to contrast the photos, the colour one really captures the happiness of Christmas to me 😀. That was so thoughtful and kind of CJ, those bandanas look amazing. So lovely to see Maddie and Pete are modeling them so beautifully too - love them! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

The black and white versions of your photos do look quite striking! I always chuckle when I hear Maddie is at doggy daycare (because I also remember you saying Pete got expelled). :-) That was very nice of CJ to send the bandanas. They look great. I love your snowman mug. Sorry to see your snow, but I guess it was inevitable. (Did you also get the ocean effect snow showers today? The northeast part of CT got those, as did Boston, etc. Ugh.) Happy T-Day!

I adore the black and white. Even themug. I see so much more in those photos -- my eyes and brain aren't competing with the color. The contrast is outstanding -- these might be some of my all time favorite photos on your blog. (Although that snow scene at the end is pretty magical!

The beach views look great in black and white, don't they! but I agree that snowman mug is better in all its colorful brightness :) Happy T Tuesday!

The black and white beach photos certainly make the beach look cold. Brrrrr. Your mug looks cute and cheery in color. In black and white the snowman looks sad. Oh, maybe that's just me thinking about the snow. So glad the bandanas arrived and that they fit. I was worried about you and the dogs being out during hunting season. Orange certainly looks good on Pete. Stay warm and Happy T Day

You are right, the B&W photos are really stunning. But of course your red mug with snowman is better in colour.
As are your 'boys' and their bandanas.
Love the photo of you in the reflection of the car window.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

awe! first of all I had a black lab-radaughter Chelsea and still miss her so much! Yours are adorable dressed up, and I enjoyed the b&w photos. Why are they so artistic? The shadows and highlights?

Oh, to live in such a house must be plain wonderful!
You make me re-think my love for Braunschweig - I love the ocean. As in... "also".
Awwww. Your doggy pics made me smile big (from a distance I might be a fan!).

Your B & W photos are very interesting. I felt like I stepped back in time while viewing them. You got a great shot of the sun's rays over the water.

Love your festive snowman mug! Awww, your dogs look so sweet in their made-by-CJ bandannas. How thoughtful of her.

Happy T-day! Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen

The dogs are lovely in their bandanas but I must say how much I enjoyed the photos of them out in the snow. Something about clean snow and branches with a coating on them makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. What a beautiful home you have. It must be a joy to waken and see outside, especially knowing you don't have to go out in it now that you are retired.
Thanks for all the photos, I must admit I like black and white photography myself, but the mug suddenly looks better in colour.
Hugs, Neet xx
