Hi everyone. Hope you have a nice Wednesday and a nice St. Patrick's Day too. We're almost to the first day of spring (or autumn for those of you south of the equator) also. In New Hampshire we finally are supposed to warm back up so it feels more spring like. Monday was brutally cold with an arctic wind, and yesterday we had a bit of a warm up, but certainly not spring like temperatures. I'm definitely ready for more spring like weather after the little winter temperature return we just had and after the beautiful temperature tease we had last week.
My page today is or Sheila's single flower challenge at Art Journal Journey. This page looks much better in life than in the photo. I think the flower is hard to see in the photo, but not as much on the actual page.
Here's a close up.
My background is made of watered down acrylic paints, some spray inks and some leaf stamping in black. The black leaves represent what's left of winter and fall, while the fresh bright spring colors are starting to come through.
I stamped the flower and colored it with various markers. I then fussy cut it and added it to my page. To make it stand out a bit, I used a white wax pencil to cover over the bold colors of my background where the flower was going to be placed. Then I added the shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day as well as the pink bunny for spring.
And that's my page!
Have a great day

Only when I look at your page does it make me happy! 💚
Very well done!
Happy St. Patrick's day! ☘️
Hugs!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! This piece is perfect for it!
That's a tremendous background for the flower, which I can actually see perfectly well. I like the symbolism of the black leaves for Winter and the shamrock for St. Patrick's Day. And a pink bunny jumped in!
I'm enjoying all your Single Flowers too. Thanks for another great entry for our challenge at AJJ.
It was quite cold here for the past few weeks and now today it is sunny and I have to stop playing with painted flowers and go out into the garden to help make some real ones.
Have a great day yourself.
Pretty color combinations and nice meanings. I love the spray additive on the background.
I'm looking forward to having color on my patio. 'Til then I'll enjoy this lovely Spring art :)
Perfect page for Spring or St. Patrick's Day. Enjoy the sunshine today!
Your art journal page is so beautiful-I love it
Belated Happy St Patrick's Day to you as well, Erika, and yes spring weather will be welcomed in NH next week.
Simply adorable, Erika. I really LOVE the flower and I adore your leaf prints. You did a great job creating this. And the bunny is the icing on the St. Patrick's Day cake. It's great for Sheila's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
Wow, Erika, this is FABULOUS! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
This is a wonderful journal page, I love this background and the flower that goes with it. A wonderful play of colors that shows the spring.
Moment is also a cold day but soon it will be warmer again with me in some areas there is a lot of snow again.
Have a beautiful day, hug Elke!
This is such a joyful page Erika! I love all the leaves and the cute pink rabbit.
I've spotted two bunnies on our early morning walks on the golf course this week. Spring is definitely coming, even though it still hasn't warmed up that much.

the layers are so interesting but all meld into one lovely work
This is just amazing! I love the colours which are bright and inviting and then we see the leaves. Finally, I saw the pink bunny which just made me smile.
A lovely page Erika, like the idea of the spring colours emerging from the darkness of winter. The bunny and shamrocks really do mean that spring is on it's way.

It looks beautiful to me Erika, the black against the bright colour is always pleasing to the eye, makes a beautiful display. I just caught sight of the bunny hee hee.. Hugs Tracey xx
Wonderful page! The richness of the green and links looks amazing and I love all the layers of colour and stamps 😁. That little bunny is super cute too! Take care! Hugs, Jo x
