Summer Blooms

 Hi everyone.

Two weeks have blown by with hurricane force winds I think because it is already time for a new challenge at Try It on Tuesday.

Thanks again to all of you who joined our Keep It Simple challenge.

For the next 2 weeks our newest challenge is SUMMER BLOOMS.

My piece for this challenge is a journal page made in my garden journal. This journal is a Dina Wakely journal with some pages that are paper, some that are burlap and some that are denim. You can see I used a denim page here.

I did a bit of stitching. I also used some Dina Wakely white cloth tape. I painted it sunflower yellow and then stamped some type with an older TH stamp on it before I attached it. I also use a left over square from a paint and scrap paper master board I had created. I had cut my master board into various sized squares for other art, and I had one left, which I used here. Finally I added these vintage TH teenagers and an Art by Marlene quote. I also has picked up a package of sparkly sunflower stickers on markdown, and decided that they not only worked well with the yellow, but were definitely a summer bloom for late August.

Be sure to check out all the other inspiration from the Design Team at Try It On Tuesday. We accept all kinds of art related to the challenge, and that challenge runs for the next 2 weeks.

I've hit the jackpot with this page, and besides linking up to Try It on Tuesday, I am also linking up to Creative Artiste Mixed Media.  I've used quite a few different types of media to make my page including the denim, stitching, paper, cloth tape, paint, stamping and stickers.

And since there is stamped text along the tape at the bottom, as well as the quote, I am linking up to Art Journal Journey and this month's art journaling challenge of TYPE, hosted by Neet.

And some inspiration based on my page and some photos I plan to share this week.

Thanks for visiting!

This is a fun summery page, Erika. The added stitching is a great detail. I love the painted and stamped bottom piece. Placing the girls in front of the collaged art piece is a nice layout feature. I love the messy stamped words strip. A beautiful sunflower photo.

Lovely artwork and beautiful flower. I'm still muddling along with my hand problem, so I haven't been able to visit everyone much. :-( The heat broke, but now it's getting muggy again, I think due to the remnants of Fred. I hope he doesn't come as far north as you.

I am a BIG fan of stitches on a page and these are perfect. They girls go so well in the field of sunflowers with the blue denim background. Just wonderful. Loved it all, especially that you also shared it with us at Art Journal Journey using Neet's theme.

Denim, very cool! And, oh, I need to use my Singer again.
Great page again.
I am kinda blocked totally. It´s yet another grey, way too cold day. No beauty to find. So... nice to enjoy yours :-)

This is a different type of journal page with it being denim and you have used lots of different types of things on it plus some typed words. So it is perfect for my theme at Art Journal Journey.
I've often wondered what I could do with a fabric journal page, now I have some ideas so I should get going on one.
Thanks for entering my theme at AJJ with such a delightful page. I love everything about it, especially the stitching..
Hugs, Neet xx
