Say It With Flowers

 Hi everyone.

It's been 2 weeks since our black and white +1 challenge began at Try It on Tuesday, and that means it is a time for a new challenge. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and thanks to Aimeslee for being our guest designer.

Our new challenge  for the next 2 weeks is:

Say It With Flowers

I started my page with a recycled piece of flower printed tissue paper. Then I added this lovely lady who looks like she is dressed in her spring finery.  I cut the blue border from a small scrap of left over wallpaper. I've been accumulating a small collection of these scraps from various people over the years.  Then I added the quote which was on some tissue paper. I decided my page needed something to finish it off, and in my fabric scrap bin I had this half of an old handkerchief.  I thought it would be just the thing to add to my page and make it a bit more unique and have a bit more texture too.

I think this page would benefit from a bit of stitching, but for one thing it is a page in a bound album  so without pulling out the page, it's hard to stitch. Also, with my craft supplies moved around due to the bedroom project, it is a little hard to get to my machine right now.

Then I added the pink metallic flowers with a dab of paint of in the center, as well as some small pink foam flowers that are meant to be used in shaker cards but I think they work great as tiny embellishment. I finished my page by using some old letter stickers to create the word spring blooms. This lady certainly is a spring bloom, isn't she?

Be sure to check out the inspirational art from the design team too. It is worth the look.

This challenge runs for the next 2 weeks, and we accept all kinds of art at Try It On Tuesday

I am also linking up this page to Valerie's spring challenge at Art Journal Journey.

I can't wait to see your Say It With Flowers art.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

A very pretty page. I think the handkerchief really makes the piece. It looks like some of the embroidery matches the small, pink flowers.

What an absolutely precious journal page. I love the beautiful back ground, the handkerchief you used, and the tiny flowers made for a shaker card that worked even better on this page. Thanks also for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Valerie's theme.

I love the beautiful background, the paper and fabric you used look fantastic with the lovely details you added.
I also loved seeing the photos from your baking day in the other post, they all looked delicious.
Stay safe, I still have a mask in my pocket or handbag to wear when I think it should be worn, even though we are told they are not necessary with the rules being lifted and more freedom in public places..

Such a pretty page - both the girl and the background you chose to use. I think it works quite well without any stitching as it is such a busy pattern. I do like how you introduced the piece of handkerchief, it really works and definitely adds to the overall look of your delightful page.
Hugs, Neet xx

A beautiful page Erika, the background is so pretty and delicate, and I love the added fabric, just perfect for this lovely young lady as I think it matches her dress.
Had a quick catch up on your other posts, the baking day looks fun and although we don't have to wear masks now, I still do when its appropriate.
Have a great weekend.
