Hi everyone. It's Friday and almost the weekend. And it's almost the end of July also.
Today I want to share one last journal page for Wendy's Door and/or Arches challenge at Art Journal Journey. Thank you Wendy for this challenge and for being a host. I enjoyed thinking about doors and arches and how to incorporate them into a journal page. I tried to be a little creative with the topic too. I'm not sure ( in my own personal judgement) if I succeeded at pushing the envelope too far, but I still had fun making my pages.
And thanks to everyone who joined in also. It was fun to see your take on Wendy's theme, and as always, your participation is appreciated by those of us who are Art Journal Journey admins. Of course you still have a few days to join in as the month isn't over yet.
For my last page I used this image which I believe is more of a window than a door, but it does have that nice brick arch over it. And the garden view outside of it is beautiful.
I started with both a sheet of watercolor paper and also a page from an old dictionary. I inked both. Then I added the dictionary page onto my watercolor paper. To pull the two together I added several pieces of washi tape. Finally I added the acetate door image, the girl, the rose image, a scrap of paper, and some small foam flowers. I finished my page by stamping the quote on the girl's bodice.

What a beautiful page! I love the garden view behind the window.
Wow!!! I really like this collage. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
So sorry about the linky. I worked through my glitches and its up now
Have a nice weekend
Much💚love
I absolutely love this! And maybe I can start with water-colors that way, too.
I don´t know, what it is... I have trouble even starting...
Anyhows... off to the balcony! Have a great weekend, hugs from here!
OOh Erika, this page is absolutely Gorgeous !
I love the background, the window is so beautiful, that´s a great view. the sentiment is stuning.
I wish you spend lovely celebrations these days, Enjoy all!
Great weekend, and big hugss

Lovely page! Enjoy the wedding!
A very nice page indeed. I love the flowery window. Have fun at the wedding. Thank you for joining Friday Face Off.
Enjoy the family celebrations, Erika, and not bringing electronic devices along isn't such a "bad" idea. On our recent week long trip to Maine, I left my notebook PC at home and only brought the cell phone and a camera. At first, I missed not working on a post, but getting away and not connecting was the plan.
To answer your questions in the comment on the Observatory post, we did tour Fort Knox and I will post about that visit next week. It would have been a much longer post to include and the observatory was interesting enough on its own.
We traveled from Nashua, NH to Brunswick, ME (ham radio event there) and then continued to Belfast, ME, visiting places in between.
Temps will be back in the 90s here next week and only a bit of rain this past week (sadly).
That quote and face are perfectly suited.
This is one of my favorite pages of this challenge - well done, Erika. That door/window with that beautiful view is fabulous. Have a wonderful time in Maine, enjoy your daughter's wedding and I hope you will tell us a little bit about it.
Such a pretty page! Loving the window with all the flowers and the quote is fabulous too 😊. I've had more time this week (with being ill and having friends over July has flown by) so have one more page for Wendy's challenge that I'll post tomorrow - I was sorry to miss this challenge but I've had so much fun creating all my entries this week to make up for my absence. Take care and happy weekend! Hugs Jo x
Pretend the window is a French door. Lovely page especially the colors. Enjoy the weekend. Sounds like good boating weather.
Ooh, very artsy and lovely, the colors are so pretty and your elements light and airy. I'm 75% finished with my one entry and will be posting it on the 31st, but I bet you'll find it amusing. {grin/wink} It's a bit of a different take. Please do go check mine out when you get time, but first have a fun time this weekend and best wishes on your niece's nuptuals. Hope the food is delish! xoxo
Nice post..have a great weekend
Enjoy your weekend Erika! I hope you have great weather! ☺ I love your journal page, I love the idea of doors and arches as a prompt for art!! ♥

Another fabulous page for my theme onAJJ. Thank you for your support this month. Hugs Wendy
What a fabulous final entry you have given us for Wendy's theme at AJJ. Your dictionary page caught my eye because it was such a great background. I love how you mixed it with the sprayed mist, too. Have fun at the wedding and all the activities surrounding it.
This is absolutely beautiful. I would have that framed in my room. I love how you incorporated the window (which could be a French Door?) and the iew beyond through the panes of glass is so pretty. The young girl just fits in so nicely with the arched image and the whole page works so well. I really do like this, very much.
Hugs, Neet xx
