Autumn: Colors or Scene

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday to you.

October has arrived and so has autumn. That's the theme of our new challenge at Try It On Tuesday: Autumn: Colors of a Scene.

I want to thank everyone who joined us with some embossing for our last challenge, and I also want to thank Diane from Nellie's Nest for hosting also.

For our new challenge at Try It on Tuesday I made a collage that I think of as an ode to autumn. It has both an autumn scene and some autumn colors.

I used kraft paper for my background and layered some paper that included the beautiful autumn tree and also a copy of an old autumn woods postcard. I added some washi tape to create both an upper and lower border. From there I die cut the big orange leaf and also added 3 smaller glittered leaves. And since the sunshine on a clear autumn day always looks so bright and beautiful, I used a bit of gold sparkle ink spray

I tucked these 3 adorable school girls  under one of the glittered leaves. They looked ready for school in their plaid dresses. I know plaid doesn't really have to be for autumn, but I often associate it with that season. That could be because I had several plaid dresses for fall as a child.  I stamped my quote on a scrap of paper that  I also used in the background, and finally I finished my page with some bronze  crafting dots.

You have the next 2 weeks to join us at Try It On Tuesday for our Autumn: Colors or a Scene challenge. All types of art are accepted.

I hope everyone's new month is starting off in a good way. Thanks for visiting.

The children look delightful, all dressed up and ready for school, anxious to get back to it and see their friends. Fall has arrived here. The temperature dipped to two degrees a couple of nights ago and the first frost can't be too far behind. The days are still warm and pleasant, however, and the colours are becoming spectacular. Hugs - David

What a fun, fun, journal page, dear Erika. Those little girls are adorable, but the journal page has a definite autumn feel to it. I love your use of the leaves, too.

Those schoolgirls are cuties. And I know exactly what you mean about plaid. It feels like fall.

Still all green here.
Cute girls!
I only for Easter and Christmas wore dresses as a kid.
I still remember the Easter one I had to wear for three years! Velvet. It so hurt my fingers I did drank near to nothing to not "have to go" and touch it. Dark blue it was.
Thank you for the memories, LOL! Hugs ;-)

Perfect for the season! Your art work made me think about how excited I was for the first day of school as a kid. I hadn’t thought about that for a long time.

I love the fabulous quote you've used on this lovely Autumnal page and I can just imagine those school girls skipping along that woodland path kicking up the leaves.
