Eggs for Breakfast, Lunch or Even Dinner

Hi everyone. It's the weekend, and I hope you are enjoying yours.

Today let me share another page for Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's challenge at Art Journal Journey. This month their theme is Food or Collage Fodder or combine them both.

I found a page in a vintage cookbook about eggs. Actually there were lots of pages with egg recipes, but one page had this fun little take on a nursery rhyme. That rhyme become the centerpiece of my page.

I used and 8x8 inch piece of polka dot paper and put it down diamond shape on my page because it reminded me of a napkin. The chickens are stamped, colored and fussy cut. I hand drew and inked the eggs. I hope you have a minute to read this 1950's  egg "poem"; cookbooks just aren't written this way any longer.

And to wrap up my post, let me share a few more photos from Three Sisters' Sanctuary.

(fyi-not a real artist, it's a statue of one)

and for those of you who  like steampunk and rust

This next one is an amazing use of old spoons.

And let me finish with some cool reflections; first through glass blocks and lastly with the purple glass ball.

Enjoy your weekend. And thanks for visiting my blog.

OK, from now on I´ll refer to Humpty Dumty - Ingo just "requested" for one for tomorrow.
I plan a post on pickled eggs (after Dec 12th when we hopefully get down with work-stress-level) - would you mind if I refer to this post then?
Oh. We have Brussels Sprouts, but now I would be in for mustard eggs instead!

I mistook the statue for real indeed - very well done!
Big YES to Steampunk! Still have some sketches of beer cans with this. Love the heart.
The spoons! Great.
Ewww. Charlotte. I have one right here. But this nearly looks like the Aussie redback I nearly touched once - scary!!!
Great art! Have a great weekend! Hugs

Fun page and a cute rhyme. I really thought the en plein air artist was real! Enjoy the weekend of no cooking!

We are fond of eggs too. A standard part of our lunch when we are out for a day's birding is a boiled egg, and on a warm summer's evening we sometimes have an omelette with a salad for dinner. If a glass or two of Sauvignon Blanc should gatecrash the party who are we to complain? Hugs - David

Your journal page is quite creative. I love how the rhyme is centered on the diamond. Nicely done and executed, too. Thanks for this awesome journal entry featuring Bleubeard's and my theme at Art Journal Journey.

Am I the only person who recognized the the artist and his canvas were a statue? So glad you showed it again. The reflections through the glass blocks were amazing, but of course, you know my heart went pitter patter when I saw all that rust. LOTS of rust, not just on the steampunk piece. Love it all. This place is a gold mine for photographers!

I enjoy eggs any time of day. That poem is a great reminder to eat more of them :)

The sculptures show such varied creativity. Cool!
