Veggies

Hi everyone.  Happy middle of the week to you.

I'm back  today with another page for Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's  challenge at Art Journal Journey.
This month the theme is Food or Collage Fodder. Or you can use them both together.

As you can see, my page is all about food.Since it is the day before Thanksgiving here in the US, I am thinking about food. My page doesn't have to do with turkey, but it has to do with some other foods you might find on a Thanksgiving table.

I started with a background that was streaky yellow. I added some orange paint to it so bye-bye streaky yellow.  I also stamped the grid around the page to give it a bit more detail and texture. The centerpiece is a page from a vintage cookbook about how to cook veggies. I used some washi tape around it, and then I machine stitched both the washi tape and also around the edge of my page.

I decided to partially frame this page with some stamped, fussy cut and watercolor painted veggies. And of course to cook those veggies you need someone to do it, so I added this cute Janet Klein chef.

Finally I used some letter stickers as well as adding a few small foamy confetti pieces to finish off my page.

And since I started sharing some photos from 3 Sisters' Sanctuary in Goshen, MA (a place I visited back in August) the other day, and since this sculpture park is all about mixed media collage art, let me share a few more photos today before I wrap up this post. 3 Sisters' Sanctuary was the kind of place where I could snap a lot of photos as I really enjoy taking close ups and finding texture.

Let me start with a bit of rust for Elizabeth.

And how about a few photos of the barn at the entrance.

I'm off with my husband to my sister-in-law's home in Maine tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so other than preparing what I am bringing, I'm not cooking. That's OK with me, but I do miss leftovers. This might sound weird, but I do enjoy a piece of  pie for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving, especially pumpkin. I might have to bake a pie today just to have some for the rest of the weekend. Smile.

That's all for me. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thanksgiving here won't have much in the way of real vegetables, I'm afraid lol

I really like your page, the veggies look great! Especially the eggplant (can you tell that I love eggplant?). The Three Sisters Sanctuary looks like a very interesting and fascinating place to visit.
Happy Thanksgiving, Erika!

Such a cute page! However, I am trying hard to avoid all the veggies as they bloat me like hell even though I do like them, but my tummy is just not happy with them.

Love the rusty art especially, too. Happy Thanksgiving!
Reminds me of Christmas, Mum made a goose and the next day we had yummy leftovers!
Hugs and enjoy x

Happy Thanksgiving, dear Erika. I absolutely adore your veggies. They are so well done and since I am a vegetarian, this spoke to me. I love that stitch you used on the washi tape and page. You have a nice fancy machine. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard's and my theme.

YES! My heart skipped a beat when I saw all that rust. Beautiful rust. I can see why you would go crazy taking photos at the 3 Sisters Sanctuary. I could take about 40 on that Museum and Gift Shop building alone. What an amazing place.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Lovely photos, especially the rust. And a lovely veggie age too. I do like the black and white centre piece and the colour surrounding it, makes for a pleasing composition, Great little long legged girl.
Hugs, Neet xx
