Hi everyone. Happy October. September sure did fly by, and we are now into the wonderful but waning amount of light of this new month. (And for me, so many must do appointments, birthdays and even my wedding anniversary also. Smile)
And since it is October, it is time to start a new challenge at Art Journal Journey
Thank you Jo for a super challenge last month!
Also, I am excited to welcome to 2 new hosts to Art Journal Journey. Welcome Valerie and Chris to our team! I'm excited to have you on board with us.
Chris is also our host for the month of October. Her challenge is Hold the Line. Think of any kind of line or anything with lines.
My first page for this month is one near and dear to my heart.
My Dad was an architect, and I wish I had an old blueprint roll from one of his projects. It would have made great art backgrounds. Unfortunately I don't have any blueprints, BUT the last time we worked on cleaning the basement I found a bag with one of his office files in it. This file contained notes and other things from a project my dad worked on, and in that folder was one standard paper sized drawing spec. Chris' challenge this month was the perfect time to use it as there are all kinds of lines.
I made a photocopy of the drawing so I would still have the original. Then I mounted it on this piece of gelli printed paper. I stamped the man (an old Claudine Hellmuth image) 3 times. I also stamped the little blue car and the TH quote. The number 3 ephemera seemed to work with the 3 men. I also added these little metal dots.
I can't wait to see your line journal pages this month. It will be a fun challenge.
Thanks for visiting my blog , and I'll see you over at Art Journal Journey

My heart nearly skipped a beat when I saw the blueprint. I am in LUST. I used to work with blueprints and this is a fabulous entry for Chris's theme. I'm in AWE, AWE, AWE.
Wonderful page, and I LOVE that quote. Have a great day, take care, hugs, Valerie
What a great journal page, *wow* fabulous idea! Processing the memory of your father in it is touching, so beautiful.
I am happy that you have been strengthened in the team!
Have a nice day, hug Elke
Great work, oh, it made me sad about my dumbness.
I threw all blueprints in the bin. Never thought of using them as art.
I had them digitized and threw the pics away, too, when I moved to IT.
This is a great work, really, hugs from a dumbhead ...
A fantastic take on Chris's AJJ theme Erika and a great way to recall happy memories of your Dad. You used super stamped images with the background print.
Stay safe.

A wonderful page Erika, and a great new theme from Chris!
Happy October!

Oh fab blueprint background. Wouldn't it be great to have some old blueprints in your stash. Thanks for visiting my blog a few times this week, much appreciated as is your comments on my AJ pages. I am hoping to do something about the "floor stash" later today to avoid any further damage to any materials or me lol. Elle Empire of the Cat xx
A fabulous page Erika and how lovely that you found one of your Dad's files. This makes a wonderful background and I can just imagine one of these men being an architect.

This is absolutely brilliant Erika! I love the blueprint background and those three gentlemen! Great quote too! Thanks for this fabulous entry for my theme at AJJ, Hugs, Chrisx
What a fabulous find to be able to use your dad’s work files in your art. Very cool!
Interesting use in your art! It has a great look, reminds me slightly of steam punk art.
This is wonderful.
Happy October :)
All the best Jan
What a lovely salute to your Dad, Erika. Fab words, too - a good idea :-) I so love this and I bet it's precious to you!

I love this art piece. Well done!
That's a truly inspirational piece. And it brings back fond memories for you, I'm sure :)
I really hope somewhere hidden you will discover a blueprint or two of your Father's what a happy reward that would be. A fabulous way of showcasing his talent, the sentiment could not have been more perfect. You'll be using those copies over and over now you have them preserved. Superb page.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, stay safe Tracey xx
Brilliant page - how wonderful to be able to include some of your father's notes and drawings. Like Tracey, I hope the odd blueprint or two might turn up one day - what a crafting treat they would be!!
