Hi everyone. Happy January 1, 2025 to you. And Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season no matter what holiday you celebrated.
It's a new month, so it's time for a new challenge at Art Journal Journey And I have a surprise. But first, let me once again thank Sharon for hosting last month. And let me thank everyone who joined in. Snow not only worked for many of us in December, but also it was such a fun and festive addition to some holiday art.
To start the new year we have a new host and also a new admin here at AJJ. I hope you all are as excited as we welcome Mia to our team. You also might know Mia from her blog Craftartista. I was lucky enough to get to spend a little time with her last year when I visited Athens, and I know my friend will be a great addition to our team.
Mia will also be our host this month at Art Journal Journey, and to start off the new year she has chosen the theme of DOTS. You can add dots in so many ways, whether they're big or small.
I made a journal page to celebrate the new year. After inking my page in some gold and silver, I used a sun stencil and some golden yellow paint. I added a lot of gold dots to the sun. Then I outlined the stenciled area with some silver dotted washi tape. I die cut the number 1 and the champagne glasses from some black dotted paper. I outlined and added some white sparkles to the champagne glasses (even though the sparkles didn't photograph well). I also added some black half pearls to show the bubbles coming out for the champagne. The bells and the January word are also die cut, the happy is stamped, the 2025 is made from stickers. And to finish my page I punched out some silver stars and then used some black paint and a wet paintbrush to splatter some more dots.
And let me remind you about the dreaded rules. Please NO CARDS, TAGS, ATC'S etc. unless they are on some kind of journal page. But we love journal pages of all kinds.
I hope you'll welcome Mia to our admin team and that you'll find a way to incorporate some dots into your page.
And I want to wish everyone a wonderful start the 2025.

After inking the page in gold and silver, I enjoyed your sun stencil and golden yellow paint. Gold and sunshine are optimistic signs of summer and joy! And the champagne glasses from black dotted paper show another type of joy :)
