Documented

Hi everyone. Its Wednesday already. Only one more day of August. Summer comes and goes way too fast, doesn't it?
This first week with kids at school is just exhausting. Man, I need a vacation!  Ha-ha. The good thing is that we start school 50 minutes later than ever so my mornings aren't quite so stressful. The bad news is we get out 50 minutes later which is really throwing off my mental clock and means I have to deal with a lot more traffic.
But I am glad it feels like fall and is cooler. Not so bad being back in a building all day when the temperature is only in the low 60s or 17 degrees C.
Ha-ha-sorry to complain but it's better now that I have that off my chest.
The other bit of good news is we have a long holiday weekend ahead. Looking forward to that.
So how about some art.
Here's a spread from my night skies journal.  Can you find the quote?
It will be my last link up to Jo's challenge at Art Journal Journey. Thanks Jo for the fun month.
This page is made with some stamping, a cool lunar image from an old calendar, as well as some paper tape and other paper bits.
Oh yes, and yesterday lots of folks asked about the fish.  Here's the photo again.
And here's a photo I found online that shows their pretty blue color.
They are mackerel. I think they are really attractive fish. I love the blue. Sometimes we keep some and eat them but this time they all got released. They are back taking a swim in the ocean.
Keeping this post short today. Thanks for visiting!

I'm not ready to give up Summer. But happy the cooler weather makes being in school more comfortable for you. Is the quote I've moved to the stars? I've never seen mackerel or eaten them. They are very pretty. Have a good day and stay dry.

What a wonderful quote and your astronomy page illustrate it perfectly, this is such a lovely addition to your Night Skies Journal! I love how you have collaged the pieces together and the lunar calendar image and telescope are fantastic, it's such an amazing page! I eat mackerel often and it's so cool that you catch them yourself. Thank you for joining Art Journal Journey again and enjoy your week! J 😊

Love the journal spread, you always have good ideas. I know how wearing school can be, I suffered it for 35 long years, and am really happy to be retired now! At least you have a long weekend to look forward to! Hugs, Valerie

Mackerel! Thanks! I've never seen one (just photos and drawings).

It's beginning to feel like fall around here, too, but I'm not done with summertime yet lol

Your spread in the night skies journal looks very good! Thank you very much for even a wonderful last entry to Art Journal Journey! Your support of the challenge was amazing! Thank you so much! Feels good to start an hour later in the morning - but not nice to have trouble then with the traffic in the evening. Pour out your heart to us - that's what frienship is all about!
I love the idea that this mackerels are free again - very kind of you!!! They really look attractive!
We had heat now again nearly 30 degrees
Celsius- but it will get colder and rain is forecasted - Autumn is on it's way I think!

Its a wonderful journal spread Erika, it was a great lunar calendar page you used. It was interesting to read your school times had changes, is that to do with the seasons. Our school times stay the same its the clocks that get adjusted here.
Mackerel are tasty fish, but I'm secretly pleased they were returned to the ocean.

The Night Skies spread is stunning -- very complex and well done!

I know what you mean about the start of school, though it's a long time off in my life. But everything changed. New schedules, new must-do things. One week down and more to go!

Have a good rest of the week!

"...to be fearful of the night. " I love that quote too. Great journal page, the finished book will be fantastic. Love your complaining-ish, a little like Erma BombecK. Wishing you a happy loooong weekend!
