Hi everyone. It was a gorgeous Saturday here in New Hampshire. Blue skies, around 70 degrees (22 degrees C), and tonight is again crisp and almost fall like. Good for sleeping for sure.
So I had a great day with LOTS of art time and even a little nap. It was my kind of Saturday.
Here's some more collage pages I finished up in my "travel journal" from my extended weekend in New York's Finger Lake region. I am making this in a blank board book and cutting up lots of travel brochures you can pick up for free. I've also added some ephemera and a little paper tape too.
The left hand page has 3 cards that flip up.
In this view you can see them flipped up.
I've got lots of quotes, so thanks to Jo's suggestion, I will link up to Art Journal Journey and her great theme of Poetry in Motion.
And how about a few other random photos from the journey too.
And how about a few other random photos from the journey too.
A mural on the side of a building in Watkins Glen. They have a major race track in the town.
Some fun painted moose when we passed through Bennington, Vermont. (We had to travel through Vermont to reach New York).
And we stopped at this wild gift store. All the statues outside attracted our attention, which is the plan I am sure the store owners had when they put them there.
I kind of liked this giant hotdog.
They even had statues on the roof.
And at a brewery we visited, they had the really interesting bathroom sign.
And this is the view from one end of Seneca Lake at sunset one evening. We had dinner on the deck of a restaurant with this beautiful view.
And finally, some parting words of wisdom.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

What wonderful pages you have created so jam packed full of memories of your happy travel adventures, it's so cool how you have collaged all the pieces together! I like the secret information that is hidden behind some of the pictures, that's such a lovely touch 😁. I notice there are some sayings and quotes on your pages too and the one that says "Today is full of possibilities" is definitely true looking at all the wonderful sight seeing opportunities detailed on your pages. By the way I love "We are not lost, we are just sightseeing!" too ...lol 😁. The signs and statues are so much fun, the mural and moose are beautiful! The lake view and your parting words of wisdom made me smile too, thanks! Wishing you a very Happy Sunday! J 😊
p.s. As you included those wonderful sayings and quotes, I'd love it if you were to link your pages to AJJ too, it would make me very happy 😁. Have fun! J x
Looks like you saw a lot. Like some of your little sayings and the beer flight names. Happy weekend!
Your travel journal looks super. A happy memento of your travels. Especially partial to the blue race car What a fun country store. Love all the statues. And the ladies and gent signs are very clever. Looks like another gorgeous day in New England. Enjoy your day.
I love public art, and I enjoyed these great examples.
I'm wondering if any of that store's private statues are for sale. I'd have to have stopped, if for no other reason than Batman and Superman. My husband is a huge fan! I had to look twice at the bathroom sign and then I laughed out loud.
The lake scene is ... I don't know. I feel so peaceful looking at it. You got a great shot.
Fabulous journal pages Erika, It is a super idea to make a travel book.
The photos of your trip are great as well, that store looked really inviting, I bet kids would love it as well.
It sound like you have had a good weekend creating your art pages.

Wonderful travel journal and photos you put them together so nicely
Thank you very much for joining AJJ again dear Erika! ♥♥♥
Happy start of the new week - have fun at school!
I wish I could create jam packed journal pages like yours. You have absolutely NO idea how much I enjoyed these examples of great journal pages. Truly festive, informative, and memory building.
Had to laugh at your husband giving Batman the POW. I personally thought the hot dog took on a phallic look. I think that was also on the minds of the people who created those fabulous restroom signs. LOVED seeing these photos and how great everything was.
What a fun post. Love all the colorful statues. I am in awe of your creativity and productivity. I just can't stick with any one thing long enough. The parks -- terrific. Just got in under the wire to get my park permit at a discount before the price went up. Whew. I don't know when I'll get to one, but it's nice to know I have it!
