Exotic

 Happy Saturday everyone.

I'm posting today with a page for both Art Journal Journey and Art Everyday Month.

Wendy is our lovely host at Art Journal Journey, and her theme is birds. Did I mention how much I am enjoying this birds theme? I pulled out my bird stamps and refound some I forgot I had.

One of those stamps was a peacock. You can see him up on the top right. I began my page by stamping the background and using bits of left over printed tissue paper.  Then I added the Middle Eastern mandala like designs, which were punch outs from a little booklet by Studio Light.
I gave the page a light coat of gesso then so they would become more of the background, and I made my own hand drawn version of the peacock's tail feathers.
I stamped the peacock and hand wrote as well as colors the word exotic. Finally I added the belly dancer.

With all the autumn browns and golds outside right now, this blue is really calling me. It is rather an exotic color,  at least for late fall,  don't you think?

Hope you like my page and are having/have a nice weekend. Not too sure what is on my to do list, but I'm sure  I'll be happy with whatever it is.

Thanks for visiting.

This is stunning. I love the combination of stamping and coloring. You really created those peacock hearts/tail feathers so well. You are right that the blue is rather exotic looking. It's another really amazing page for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

Hope your to-do list includes time to play. Mine is too filled with other things, I fear.

You're right, that blue is refreshing here in the middle of all these Autumn browns and oranges :)

This is so very pretty. I didn't see the peacock in the corner until I read your text. However, I knew it was a bird theme and right away recognized the eye feathers. Very cleaver. Enjoy your day.

I like that shade of blue. Bet that color can be found in the peacock's feathers. Enjoy the weekend.

With all of Autumns browns and golds everywhere, it makes a nice change to see the blue here.

Have a lovely weekend.

Definitely an exotic colour for an exotic bird. I love your peacock, especially his tail and I like how you have linked different images into the picture weaving a very Eastern theme into the whole page.
Beautiful as always Erika.
