This Week The Color Is Red

 Hi everyone.

Today I am posting some more fish for Mia's challenge at Art Journal Journey, and I'm also highlighting the color RED for Rain's Thursday Art Date as that is her color theme for this week.

I'm back with my little book of fish, and although these 2 pages are not side by side spread, they both have red fish.

This first page has a fish image that was in my stash (and I'm not sure where it came from) and this second page has a red fish I snipped off an old poster I brought home from the classroom. There are also 3 red fish on the fake postage stamp from an old collage sheet by Art Chix. You might remember them as they were a big company back before 2010. I wonder if Art Chix even makes collage sheets any longer. I searched for them, and they came up on Etsy, but I didn't see any results.

Both of my pages are smaller, and you can see a bit of the page underneath.

And here's some more red inspired photos.

My roses are starting to bloom.

And pink is just  white mixed with red.

And here's some red peonies I saw while visiting Bedrock Gardens recently.

And I've shown this next photo before, but a glass of red wine tastes nice sometimes.

And I will leave you sipping some red wine (only if you want it). Have a great day. And thanks for visiting.

Red is a pretty good theme it seems to me. I hope that someone picks up on Red Letter Day as a topic with great scope. I am sure we have all had a few of those in our lives and it would be good to see how you artists portray it graphically. I will keep on looking! Hugs - David

The fish pages remind me of Dr. Seuss' One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. And now I'll be repeating that little mantra all day 😺 Your roses and peonies are so pretty especially that dark pink and white variegated rose. Enjoy the day. I hope the thunderstorms hold off until tonight.

Your roses are beautiful with their subtle and shades of red. Red Wine I love. And it's good for us is my excuse.

Wrika, the fish pages reminded me of Dorie, when you added "just keep swimming." yes to the color red, which is one of my favorites, but purple if #1. We had red wine last nite!

OMGosh, Erika, Art Chix? Blast from the past (love that movie, too!). Helga the owner, she sold her collage sheets as pdf's that's how long ago. So did Collage Stuff and Digital Collage Sheets, two other vendors I used. It irked me because I couldn't resize the images unless I printed a sheet and then scanned it back in and saved as a jpg. Extra work for me. Been a while since that brain cell was accessed, lol. The one I'm shocked is still going strong is Alpha Stamps, they have all those different kits and 3D miniature assemblage.

Very nice red art, flowers and wine too. Your roses are so pretty and I love peonies that color. xoxo

Just keep swimming, oh I do! They threw me in cold water!
We have a new colleague from Spain. He got explained everything, in detail, I was sitting there thinking, HUH??
Told my new teamleader he did a great job and that my then-teamleader like totally let me down. Which he knew.
But I kept swimming :-)

Very meaningful page for me!

You would sure love our kitchen, red all over.
Trader Joe´s wine? Funny! here it´s related to ALDI. And that means these days: Great quality!
Cheers! And some hugs. This post made me happy :-)

Erika, your fish art is wonderful, and I love all the beautiful roses! Roses are one of my most favorite flowers, especially when they are fragrant. I'm planning on having an enjoyable glass of red wine tonight, because Terry is taking me to a great steakhouse for dinner. Have a fun weekend!
