Hello Friday

Hi everyone. Happy Friday. It's been a mix of very cold days and just plain cold days at my house. And it seems most days we've been having wind. Of course they say next week we're in for some bitter cold days. What a month January has been so far. No January thaw yet. 😐

It's time for Nicole's Friday Face Off and also for Gillena's Friday Lunch Break. I've still been cleaning out my art space so I haven't had much art time, but with all the cold, it's been a good time to do it. I am happy to be just about  done with a successful clean, reorganize and purge.👍 Of course, I should move onto my clothes closet which still has some work clothes in it (and I retired 4+ years ago) and even my books could use a good going through.

For faces today I once again have some pages from a holiday journal I made and finished right before New Years. Sorry to be sharing Christmas in mid-January, but hopefully by next week I'll have something new to share. And I really like this Christmas journal that  I made.

There's lots of faces today, as well as some dots so I'll also be joining Mia's Dots challenge at Art Journal Journey.

To make these pages I used various papers, rubber stamps, water color paints, inks, markers, die cuts, TH people, stickers, ribbon, lace, washi tape, some Studio Light punch outs as well as some 49 and Market punch outs.

That's all for me today. Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead.

Your holiday journal pages are really lovely, Erika. I especially love the face. Is that a family member? Keep cozy this weekend!

Erika, to answer your question on whether the museum tried to buy the ruby red shoes, they did and bid in the auction. The museum solicited donations to boost the amount raised by the city of Grand Rapids at its annual Judy Garland festival. Minnesota lawmakers had also set aside $100,000, but not enough!

So many closets to clean! I think it took me decades to finally give up my work wardrobe. By that time I wouldn’t have worn any of it for anything except maybe a Halloween costume. Great to hear that you are accomplishing all that.

Wow! These are gorgeous. I love that first one. Her hair is so reminiscent of the times. Thank you for joining FFO and have a very nice weekend.

You created a beautiful Christmas journal, Erika.
All that cleaning and purging sounds really good. I regularly go through my things and often have a "free" box in my driveway. My clothes I usually give to an organisation that looks after the homeless people in our city - they have several shelters and also do big feeds, help them find job, do job trainings etc. Much of it is funded by donations and a thrift store. Books I know I won't read again end up in the little library across the street. I'm getting tired of all the stuff we have and don't use or need anymore. Have a lovely weekend, hugs - Carola

Yes, January always seems slow.

I just returned from Costa Rica last evening and I am getting back into my morning ritual of catching up on blog posts. I never had “work clothes” so cleaning my closets of them was never an issue. And I am a clothes minimalist anyway. I could happily wear the same clothes every day (laundered, of course). I need to purge some books too, but that’s agony! All the best - David

Beautiful work, I really like the depictions of each individual!
You always have great ideas.
It's great that you've tidied up so much and hopefully the cold won't be too bad at your place!
Have a beautiful Sunday!Hugs Elke

Your pages are lovely. You are the queen of the quick journals. I love all the elements you used. As for the clean-out/up, I'm glad you accomplished what you wanted to. I find myself just concentrating on remembering where everything is. I've tried so many times and it just takes forever. And I hate getting bogged down and losing my motivation. I get overwhelmed. It reminds me of one time Honey said, you have so much crap. And I said, yes but it's my crap. Bwahaha. Sad but true! Now that he rummages through it to find stuff for HIS art, it's suddenly more precious, lol. Stay warm!!! XOX

Lovely Christmas art, Erika, and the dots are super fun. I am so proud of you cleaning out your craft stuff - I so need to do that. Maybe I will do a bit of it today since I am inspired by you. Hugz

What a treat to see all these journal pages. Love the first one with the punched out strip representing dots for AJJ's challenge, and the last one has an abundance of dots. The cute little guy from way back adds just the perfect finishing touch as he sits on the Christmas wreath.
Hugs, Neet xx
