Hi everyone. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I can't say our weather has been very good lately, and yesterday it snowed and then warmed up just enough for rain. I had some errands to run so that worked for me, but not so much for my husband as he is working on an outdoor project and the snow put a stop to it. It's tough because he still works full time, and all he has is the weekends to complete it.
Today I have another journal page to share for my Spring Birds challenge at Art Journal Journey. I'm also linking up to Gillena's Sunday Smiles. I know crows aren't exactly the birds most people think of in spring, but I find them interesting. There are several that I see in the woods around my house all year; in fact I think they have a nest/winter home there. However it's rare I see them come into the yard except to fly over it.
I actually colored the background and added the house while starting a page for my AJJ challenge last month, but then I never finished it. I recently thought about how at the start of spring, the world is mostly black, grey and white before all the color bursts out, and that's the direction I went with this page.
You can see I stamped some leaves and some blue dots on the green bottom of the page. I also added those colorful clouds and the bright sunlight. I stamped the crows and the quote. I created a flower bed below the house by adding a die cut strip of black circle trim, but then it was too much black for spring so I added the flowers. Those flowers are a piece of fabric trim I cut apart. To finish I added the little confetti centers to each flower.
On rare occasions I see a crow or 2 near the house, and recently I was even able to capture a photo of one of them. He/she looked like rich black velvet against the rough background of bare tree limbs.
That's all for me. Have a great rest of your weekend and start of the new week.

...make your new week special.
Snow in April? What the hell....I am going to make you jealous of our weather. It's 17C and no rain...sun was trying hard to come out, but in vain. We have tons of crows here...I wish I could see a deer or a fox here..but none.
good morning very cool photo of the the crow I love watching them here. that would make an interesting journal page too. I heard the east coast would be getting snow-ugh Happy Sunday hugs Kathy
I love your crow image! And so sorry about the snow!
birds with black plumage here include blackbirds, red-winged blackbirds, and also crows. I like them all! Your photos are very effective with the black-grey contrast.

Lovely page and a beautiful shot of the crow.
We had a crow stop at the front feeder this morning. I hope we see sunshine this week. Less rain and no snow!
I do like your page.
Lovely photographs of the crows.
Hoping your weather improves.
Enjoy the coming new week.
All the best Jan
How lucky you are to have the crows visit. Such a pleasure and no less a privilege. We look forward to them every day. All the best - David
Dear Erika, it's really annoying when the weather ruins your plans (in this case, your husband's) – and I can remember when we still had to go to work and the weather on the weekends wasn't ideal for our gardening projects. Perhaps this is a good reason for your hubby to really retire this year? (Your comment sounded to me like he wasn't entirely sure if he WANTS to retire? Maybe I just misinterpreted something... Anyway, I really hope you can indulge your wanderlust soon. Don't wait too long, the world has so much to offer, and we don't know how long we have left to at least see the places we long to visit.) And yes, we're planning another trip - but I won't reveal any more than that yet 😉
Back to your page - you've done a wonderful job of capturing the awakening of spring - from black, white, and gray to green and colorful. Crows are truly year-round birds - we have many here, too, pecking for seeds, especially in the fields around our house, and sometimes crows or even magpies nest in our neighbors' large conifer. (Sometimes one, sometimes another...) I sincerely hope that the snow is over for you now and that spring is really starting to take off!
All the best from Austria, Traude

What a beautiful page! I love that the sun is trying to peek out through the clouds and the row of flowers next to that amazing old house! I love the older homes! Sorry to hear about the snow...I think we've put that behind us now and moving to Spring. Come on sun and warmth! :)
I think your journal page turned out terrific. Nice house and the springtime entry with birds. Nice photos of the crows, too. It was 90 F at my house yesterday and I was broiling (and not food). Another great entry for your theme sat AJJ, dear.
I hope your weather improves and you have a wonderful week.
