Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And a big hello to all the folks who stop of very T at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog too.
This morning (Monday) we had some snow flurries (even thought the temperature was above freezing), and last week we had more grey weather than sunshine at my house, with a bit of snow, rain, thunder and temperatures that didn't know whether to be like winter (cold) or like spring (warm). I managed a couple of walks and did a bit of seed planting in some pots, plus I worked on our taxes which would have gone much easier if my dear husband had printed off his W-2s, which are the statement with all the information you need for taxes that your employer gives you. I did finally get them done, but the whole thing is stressful even using one of those tax programs. 😩
I also put out some spring decorations at my house last week. I thought I would share some of those today since I'm still waiting for nice spring weather to return and some of those decorations work nicely for T day.
Here's my mantel over the fireplace. I was excited to find the 2 bunnies you can see in the Target dollar section. I really like how big these bunnies are. Sometimes you can definitely find good things there in among all the "stuff" you don't need. 😏 Below is the bunny I usually put on my mantel, but with the 2 new white bunnies he's been moved to my dining room hutch/cabinet. He looks good there too.
These next 2 bunnies are probably 30 years old. I picked them up at a shop called the Christmas Tree Shop that sold random bits of everything. The chain went out of business a couple of years ago, but mainly I used to shop there to find trinkets for my daughter (when she was young) for things like her Easter basket and Christmas stocking. I picked up these bunnies on one of those shopping trips.
And for T, you can also see one of my teapots here. And speaking of teapots and T day, here's a spring themed one my daughter gave me for my birthday several years ago. I really like him.
Sadly I have no photos or real live bunnies to share. In my area I haven't seen one for years, probably between the coyote and the bobcats it keeps their numbers down. But I know I used to frequently see them on the grounds of the school I worked at back when I was teaching.
Recently Jeanie at the
The Marmalade Gypsy shared a recipe for a wine cake. It sounded intriguing so I made one last weekend.
It was the first time I'd ever bought or even tasted sherry. It made a very flavorful cake, but I can't see myself drinking a glass of this. It was a lot sweeter than I like.
My husband and I both actually like the cake though, and I would definitely make it again. Here's the recipe Jeanie had on her website that I used.
Thank you Jeanie for sharing this recipe.❤
That's all for me today. Have a wonderful T day and week ahead.

The bunnies are cute and the cake looks delicious. We prefer the much drier (non-sweet) sherry to dry sherry.
...hop to it and have a great spring week.
LOVE your new bunnies. That bunny teapot is also adorable and perfect for T. Of course, you gave us a lot of drink references with the other teapot and the sherry. That cake looks SO tasty. Thanks for sharing these with us for T this week, dear Erika.
The bunny teapot is very cute, Erika. I don't have any Easter or spring decorations anymore - I never had many in the first place, and when my daughter asked whether she can have them I gladly brought them with me to Germany last year. The only bunny deco I still have sits out in the garden under some plants. I'm giving more and more of these things away. Happy T day! Hugs - Carola
The bake looks good.
We have snow right now with the heat cranked.
Burrrr.
Cute bunnies and the cake sounds good! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
My husband just did his tax :-) I am glad that I don't have to do them...so tedious and complicated. In Germany, a red wine chocolate bundt cake is very popular. Now I want to try that sherry cake...might be using some rhubarb liquor though. That bunny teapot is pretty cute!
Taxes... oh. I´ll call a pro (they charge mw "a lot"!)
Cute bunny!!! Plural! And "LOL" on sweets. Have a very happy T-Day and week, hugs!
You can buy dry sherry, although once tRump adds his tariffs you will probably need a tax rebate to buy a bottle! We use dry sherry quite frequently in cooking and occasionally have a glass before dinner. And speaking of taxes, (we have until the 30th), we hand them over to our accountant! That way I keep my sanity! All the best - David
Oh good! I'm glad you liked the cake. When Suzanne made it (this time) she used port which has a darker flavor than sherry -- the kind of thing where you would have a very small glass after dinner, not drink much. Hopefully you will make the cake again and use up more of the sherry!
I love all your bunnies! And your yellow teapot, too. (Actually, both teapots.) I've got to take a few pictures of decorations -- I haven't done that yet. Like you, I just got them up! And yes, we got snow too -- just flurries, not sticking but cold. I looked at last year's posts today and realized this was the time of the eclipse when we were in t-shirts outside!
I love your bunnies. So cute. I hope you get some sunshine and warmer temperatures soon. The cake looks good.

Oh your bunnies are so cute! And the teapots are lovely too.
Well done for finishing your tax return. I fortunately don't have to do this as I don't earn enough. My pension gets taxed at source and (whispering: anything else I get informally does not get declared).
That cake looks delish. I looked at the recipe. What is safflower?
Yes, cream sherry is the sweetest sherry you can buy, (it was my late dad's favorite) but there are many other, dryer sherries.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
I love your Spring decor especially those bunnies! Taxes and snow I'm hoping are behind us here! LOL
I do like your bunnies and the cake looks good.
I haven't had a glass of sherry for quite some time ... my dear Dad used to enjoy a glass.
Hope this week is going well for you.
All the best Jan
Sorry to say we have been having a lovely week of sunshine. Sometimes there was a cold wind if you weren't sitting directly in the sunshine. Your weather sounds dreadful and not at all what you want in April.
Good for you honouring Springtime with your little display. Love all the bunnies you have, especially the teapot.
I must get DH to find my silk flowers and the board that I make a decoration on for Easter. Don't think my hip will allow me to wander into the garage to look for it.
Hugs, Neet xx
LOVE the decorations and all of your bunnies are adorable. We think a bobcat got our cat a few years back, so I'm always pleasantly surprised to see the bunnies in our yard. Oh that cake! I've saved the recipe to show Honey. C'mon Spring! xoxo
