T Stands for Spring???

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And I'm a day late, but happy Passover to those who celebrate. It's the start of the week and time for T again over at  Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's  blog.

Today there was  absolutely gorgeous weather at my house, but last week it was another story. The poet TS Elliot wrote a classic line in his poem The Waste Land. "April is the cruelest month".   Sorry to complain. It snowed on 4 days. Mostly just flurries and a dusting that melted pretty quickly. The biggest snow was Saturday where we  were in a 1-3 inch (2.5-7.6 cm) range.

The poor Phoebe was looking forlorn while waiting for some insects to fly by.

OK, even I don't want to see any more snow photos .  Or snow either!
Luckily  it later turned to rain, but sadly the snow didn't disappear immediately.  It's gone now though--❤👍😀 This week our weather has warmed back up to the normal 50-60 degrees (10-15 degrees C), even though there's still some rain and wind in the forecast.  I really hope it's  sunny or at least a mostly dry week and things green up a bit.

But some things are saying spring, like the kale and spinach seeds I planted that are now popping up. They are inside in some pots.

And last week we had one nice-work-outside type day so I could get out and start a project I need to do. My roses are a little too crunched together where I have them, so I want to spread them out. The best time to do that is now before they start to grow for the season. I spent one morning cleaning out around them and moving the edging to see how I want to expand the area.

Hopefully I can move the ones I want to spread out this week. I am very excited to get my hands in the dirt. I love to dig and plant and then watch the results of my efforts over the summer.

And since it's T day, I need to share a drink. One day when the snow changed over to rain I went out and met my husband for lunch. There's not a lot of places to eat near his office, and a few of those aren't the quickest, so we often go to the Longhorn which is a steak chain because besides being fairly quick, they don't have a bad lunch menu either.

I had  their soup (baked potato) and  salad combo, and for my  drink, I had a  diet coke. You can see my husband's meal in the background, and he had the same thing.

Have a great T day and week ahead.

I can't believe we got more snow than you did! Your rose garden is going to look gorgeous. Himself and I enjoy Longhorn Steakhouse. I usually get the Renegade. I hope you enjoyed beautiful weather today. Happy T Day

I know you are going to hate me. I had 90 F weather yesterday. Your kale and spinach look good already. I don't envy you moving your rose bushes. Been there, done that.

Your salad and soup are a vegetarian delight. Thanks for sharing it and your diet Coke as well as your week with us for T this almost Tuesday, dear Erika.

I have never tried it. But baked potato soup in cold weather sounds very appropriate - hot, tasty and full of energy for the customers.

Nice-looking lunch! Somehow I have never managed to try baked potato soup. I don’t eat out that much (and when I do it’s often asian food) so I guess I need to find a recipe.

wow such a contrast we had one day over the weekend that we were just shy of 90 degrees snow would be a bummer this time of year-soup looks delicious hoping your bees are ok

No more snow!!! Please. Funny: I just got kale out of the freezer!
Your lunch looks very good.
I am sorry I suck with visiting so much. My studies are... so stupid I want to scream. Ingo gives me kisses but it does not help.
Let us hope for a snow-less, wonderful week! Happy T-Day, hugs and I am sorry...

Enough already with the snow! Great looking lunch, although just the soup or the salad would have been plenty for me. I think that real spring weather is on the way, and maybe it will stay around. All the best - David

oh noes you have snows! :( It's only snowed a few times here in April that I can remember, but I really don't want to see it here. It has been sunny here during the day but still frosty overnight. I hope you can get to digging and planting soon. I have never heard of baked potato soup before! Happy T Day!

Wow, that snow so pretty but it's April so let's hope that's the last of it 😊. Your seeds are doing so well and how lovely to work on your yard. Loving your soup and salad, it looks so yummy - what kind of soup was it? Enjoy your week and sending Happy T Day wishes ❤️ . Hugs, Jo x

Your soup looks delicious! I'm sorry that you had snow again, that wouldn't make me happy either. I hope that real spring days are ahead for you and you can get out and start digging. I love to get my hands in the dirt as well and fortunately, I already had a lot of opprtunities for that this spring. Happy digging! Hugs - Carola

Oh no that snow! I hate when we get tricked into thinking the Spring weather is here and then nope! We actually have a frost advisor tonight, so all of the flowers that have come up need to get covered. Sigh. The soup looks yummy!

Hopefully you can plant your flowerbed now! That was delicious food! Nobody needs snow anymore.
You've conjured up a beautiful, sweet work of art!

That soup & salad looks very scrummy! Good choice.
I'm tired of seeing snow too (although we didn't get much) It's the cold I'm complaining about. I still light the stove and outdoor temperatures are between 5 and 11 degrees C. Much too cold for this area in this time of year.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

That's a lot of snow! Say it isn't snow. I hope it's gone by now. Great looking soup and more. And well done on the projects!

I've never heard of baked potato soup, love leek and potato so would be happy to try the baked one you mention. Must find a recipe.
Cannot believe you had sow like that, hope that is the last of it for you. Well done on the kale.
