Happy Weekend

Hi everyone. I hope your weekend is going well.    We had some more rain to start off the weekend; it was the 12th Saturday in a row with rain. ☔😒 I don't mind having the rain as it saves me from watering, but it would be nice to switch it up so it doesn't keep falling on Saturday. 😏

Let me start off this post by sharing  another page for Matilde's People challenge at art journal journey

Here's another page from my nature journal. The background started with yellow ink, and then I used matte medium to attach the bee tissue paper. I used some yellow watercolor paint to cover it all, and gave that background a bit of white gesso splatter.

I added the large flowers sticker. I also die cut a pocket, and created a tag using  a very old bookmark background that had the ruler edges. I stamped some honeycombs and added the bee stickers.  On the pocket I added this lady in the winged dress sticker and stamped a quote which I think might be an old Inkadinkadoo stamp, but since the quote is unmounted and something I've hard for ages, I'm not certain about that.

I am also linking up to Gillena's Sunday Smiles.

Here's  view from last Wednesday morning at the lake while I was at work at the boat ramp. We were getting some smoke from Canadian wildfires, nothing as bad as some places were getting, but it created a kind of weird  sky view that I like.

And on the same day the pine pollen was awful.  At one point it was fine mist all over the end of the lake where I was, and then the current moving water caused it to form this thick yellow foam. 😲

But it is much prettier to look at some more flowers coming into bloom, or almost in bloom as in the case of this peony in my garden.

Some of the milk weed plants are getting buds too. Milkweed has the most beautiful scent, and if you've never smelled it, you should try to find some and take a sniff.

And the alliums are  and have been blooming for a bit in my bee garden. You can see it's pretty thick with growth, but I haven't been able to get in there because that's where the bluebirds (that I've shown so many photos of) were nesting.

Have a super rest of your weekend and start to the new week.

Sorry to be sending you smoke from our wildfires, Erika. Nobody wishes more than us that we could extinguish them. All the best - David

That's pine pollen? We sometimes see it on our lake and I always worry it is something -- well, worse. I'm not sure what. But worse. At least that's natural. Ugly. But natural. We're getting haze from the smoke and now and then I think I can smell it -- but not always.

That is a delightful journal page!
I adore alliums--I don't know what it is about them, but I think they're spectacular.
I hope your Sunday is going well.

The pollen is like that here as well. It's bad everywhere. Beautiful art and really lovely flowers. Have a nice Sunday.

Lovely journal page. My peony is in bud and I think I only got one allium like that this year. I've had a lot of the big red poppies though.

Pretty page. I like the honeycomb and bees. We got a little bit of haze, but nothing like at the lake. Wow. Your flowers are just gorgeous especially the alliums. I hope you're enjoying the weather today

I love your flowers. We only have a few allium flowers, so I’m impressed by your abundance.

Wow wow wow, you are in the heyday of your garden, it's so pretty. I love cabbage roses, okay, peonies. LOL They look like little cabbages. Great aj page with the pocket and tag. I want to thank you for mentioning the sticker book, I was able to use mine for this week's SPA. Ugh, that yellow pollen gets on our cars and everywhere down here. Hope your next week is cooler and no pollen. xoxo

Wonderful diary page Erika, I loved that you included the bee! I hope the fires in Canada will end. The lake is fantastic! I think it brings so much peace! Pollen is a problem for allergy sufferers!

The rain has done wonders. You have absolutely stunning photos. Right now we've lots of pollen in Finland and it's make my feel unwell, impacting my mood and psysical comfort.
It's better be inside and making cards...😍🤣

It is lovely to see your latest art journal page. The bee tissue paper and honeycomb elements create a wonderful theme. That view of the lake, even with the smoke, does have a unique charm. It's fascinating how the pine pollen creates that thick foam. Your flowers, especially the peony and milkweed, are simply beautiful. www.melodyjacob.com

Can one bee (the only one I saw) help growing all the strawberries I got?
Ohhh, that pic of your boat ramp, wonderful!
That "foam-art" ist wonderful, too.
And ohhh, the flowers! Hugs and thanks!

Gorgeous page with those bees! I love the pocket idea and need to remember to incorporate that into my journaling at some point! Yes, even over in IL, we're going to have some wildfire poor air quality (in the next couple of days) and the pollen has been really bad as well. Glad you're getting some beautiful flowers coming! HUGS

Lovely seeing your peonies mine have been and gone, your alliums are magnificent. Wish I had some in our garden but have been saying that for years and not done anything about it, maybe next summer!
Love your bee page, very colourful and the bee paper you used is so good as you used it on there. I thought about you on Saturday evening. A tv programme that is known for its not so good prizes was giving away a bee hive and 100 jam jars. I laughed and wondered who would be happy with that. They would have to find out about bee keeping, fancy doing it and spend a lot more money on the new hobby. Guess they would try to sell it on.
Hugs, Neet xx

I'm allergic to pine pollen, but I've had enough of it, but you have tons!
The smoke getting to you isn't so good. Your flowers from your garden are beautiful.
I really like your journal page with the bees and the beautiful background! Great idea for doing this.!
I'm getting squalls and rain tomorrow!

Hi Erika! Your photos are absolutely stunning! I especially love the one you took at the lake with the erie-looking sky from the Canadian wildfires. And yes, the pollen here is really bad, too. (I had to start taking Allegra and feel much better.) I especially love your art journal page, which is beautiful! Your bee theme and quote are perfect! Thanks for sharing this will all of us. Sending hugs, Sharon
