Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. It's June 2, and time over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog for second blog looks, better known as Second on the Second.
For my second look I'm taking you back to June 6, 2019 when I had this journal page up on my blog. I picked this post because I kind of felt like an astronaut all of May. Not that I was on the moon, spaced out, or even traveling any place far off, but I watched the world green back up again from the winter landscape of greys and browns back to full fledge summer. I imagine if any astronauts are sensitive to color they must notice the green plants along with so many other colors when they return to earth after a space journey. And of course, the view of the earth from space must be pretty spectacular too. Plus, I really like this image.
And in case you aren’t aware, this month at Art Journal Journey Matilde is hosting with a theme of People. The astronaut is an old post, but here's a new journal page on that theme.
My page today is also from my new nature journal. This page is made with assorted stickers from a big sticker book that I have, except for the book page corner on the bottom left which is from a sheet of Ciao Bella paper and also the frame which is from 49 and Market. The quote is also not from the sticker book.
The cool microscopic drawings are images by Ernst Haeckel. Haeckel was a German biologist who drew very detailed pictures of marine organisms . He lived between 1834-1919.
And if you're curious about this sticker book that I referred to, this is it.
I've had this book for several years, and I haven't used it as much as I'd hoped when I bought it. However, many of the images are nature oriented and work well for this new journal I'm making, so you'll be seeing more stickers from it as I share pages.
That's all for me this post as I need to head out to the lake for a morning of weed checking. Hope you have or are having a great start to the new week and month too.

For those of us who were alive when Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon it’s probably one of those events you remember exactly where you were. I know I do. All the best - David
...have fun weed checking!
The stickers on your new page are very colourful and beautiful. Happy June, Erika!
I hear you on the greening up of the world. It seemed to take forever but we're in it now!
I remember this page you created in 2019. Seems so long ago and yet not long ago at all. This is a fun second look and a great reminder of what we were doing back then. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You are on a roll with Matilde's theme this month. I love how you used the stickers from that book, too. This is a fabulous entry for her theme at AJJ and I am super impressed with how it all came together. Thanks for sharing both challenges, dear friend.
Lovely pages and a nice look back.
Very interesting makes 😍 Thank you for joining my challenge at AJJ 🤗
Love that astronaut page to much! I know exactly what you're saying about the landscape! It seems that the blooms didn't turn out as they usually do and we're loosing two pear trees that will need cutting down. The weather is so strange the last few years! I'm loving the gorgeous page using your sticker book! Lovely designs!
You are so talented. I love your work. Happy Monday.
What great and beautiful pages! Have a good clean and enjoy the beautiful weather at the lake.
Hugs Elke
This masked woman is magical and seductive, and the quote is exquisitely chosen!
Your journal page is beautiful!
Hugs, Elke
Cool astronaut page. Everything is certainly green now. I like your Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures. That's my T Day theme. The sticker book looks cool. I'd be photocopying the stickers and cutting them out so I could have the original book of stickers to pet. Are you getting smoke from the Canadian fires?
Hope your morning weeding went well.
Love your pages, Erika! The astronaut one, especially, looks so cool. Great use of the stickers and drawings in the other one too. Hope you're having a lovely week. 😊Anita xx
Your astronaut page made me stop and think - I wonder what the earth looks like when you are up in space. What exactly do you see?
Love the sticker book, how fantastic is that cover, so colourful and steampunkish. Your journal page is striking too with all it's plant based Mandalas and the figure in the frame.
Enjoy your morning out at the lake and have a lovely week.
Hugs, Neet xx
Great second look page. I always think of I Want My MTV when I see that astronaut image lol. The TV ad background looked like yours, too. Was that subliminal memory art? heehee And nice science nerd current page. I would never have guessed those shapes were what they are and I have the book, lol. XOX
Hey Erika! I absolutely adore your incredible second look page! It’s funny because I recently watched the movie Apollo 13 (it was on TCM) and was thinking about our astronauts and their families. Also, the page you made for Matilde’s theme is gorgeous. I love the amazing stickers you used! Thanks for sharing the book you got them out of. I hope you had a lovely day at the lake! Hugs, Sharon
Lovely page for Matilde's challenge at Art Journal Journey.
