Photos

I just looked out the window and the latest snow has begun to fall. Let's see how much snow we have by morning. We had such blue skies today I had hoped maybe this storm had turned more out to sea. But I guess that was wishful thinking.
March is coming in like a lion as the saying goes.
I have a tag made with some of my favorite stamps for Tag Tuesday's newest challenge.
I had fun making a tag almost totally from stamps. The circle design is a Native American sun image. And adding the flaming hearts and the cars and working with the idea of escape from winter is my inspiration for this piece.
So to escape the lingering winter, how about some more photos from a warm and sunny Florida?
Some of you were asking where we went in Florida.
My husband and I flew into Fort Lauderdale, a city near Miami in the south of the state, and then with  a rental car drove down through the Florida Keys. The Keys are a chain of islands that go down into the Gulf of Mexico. To reach Key West, the last largely inhabited island,  you travel from island to island over a series of bridges along a road called the Overseas Highway.

Along the way we made some stops including visiting a sea turtle hospital, which was amazing and which I will show you another time.
We spent a couple of days in Key West.
Not the most flattering photo of me , but here I am. And then we drove north back to the mainland and spent a couple of days visiting 2 National Parks that are in the area, the Everglades and Biscayne.
More another day.
Happy new week.

WOW, Erika, I was way, way off. What an amazing trip. I am in lust. I want to go back, too.

That's a lovely tag, very bright and HOT!! Hope the weather misses you, because I am buried here and more is on the way. I love your photos, and of course, the map showing how far south you were. The end of the line, indeed.

Glad you got the package. You got it sooner than expected, really.

The tag is just so beautiful made with all the details! Gorgeous! And I adore the photos of your amazing trip and look forward to many more impressions! And you were able to wear shorts and a shirt which is like walking on air - right? I love your sentence of not dressed to impress in your latest comment for me...me too.
Have a fantastic start into the new week my friend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!!!!
Hope your special day brings you all that your heart desires!
I wish you abundant happiness and love. May all your dreams turn into reality and may lady luck visit your home always. Happy birthday to one of the sweetest blogger friends I’ve ever known.”

Great post Erika - love the colours on the male themed tag.
Looks like you had a really nice break - love seeing your photos.
What a weather shock - wondering how much snow you now have or
has it gone already?
Have a great week... Gill xx

Oh I so like this post! The tag is wonderful with the different stamps. I like it.
Thank you for taking me to the Florida Keys. When my Fitbit was still working I used to walk virtually. Walking4fun does lots of different trails. One of them was the Florida Keys. It took me weeks and weeks to walk the whole length. And walking it was a bit boring after a while as all you see is ocean. For a car drive it's probably much better.
I'm looking forward to seeing the turlte photos of course as they are my favorite animal.
What do you mean by 'not flattering'. You look great! Look at your happy face and your 'hurray-it's-vacation' attire! Please don't be embarrassed by what you look like. You are you.
I have the attitude: this is me, take it or lump it. If you don't like me because of the way I look, then your interest in me is not genuine.
Sorry, didn't mean to preach...
Hugs,
Lisca

Well I have visited Key West twice and Cuba three times. Now you need to go to Cuba and see which destination you prefer.

Beautiful tag and great photos. I also hoped the storm would stay farther south and miss me. No such luck. I got about 5" to 6" of heavy wet snow, the worst kind to get. I posted some photos on my blog this morning.

Well...your timing from FL is perfect. Think you missed a big one in NH! We are not suffering here in southern NJ except for more rain than snow. Love your piece, especially the colors and the figure. Thanks for visiting my post, we are doing OK. A puppy changes lives, and not one kitty, but two, who are not that tolerant of their new housemate. My husband is in totally in love with his new puppy, so it has to work out! More amusing photos coming soon. Enjoy the sun!

With 13 inches of heavy, wet, snow on the ground, I can only imagine blue skies, turquoise ocean, and short sleeves and shorts! Hope you got a snow day today!

We had snow flurries, barely visible, for about 15 minutes yesterday, but we're getting highs that are colder than our lows usually are this time of year. Too cold! Southern Florida looks like heaven! :)

It is a great tag and I love how you created the background.
The photos are super, it must have been a welcome break away, you seem to have visited a wonderful area, somewhere I only know about from photos in magazines. The road between the islands must be awesome.
I hope the snow isn't to bad, coming from the warmer part of your country back to the cold must have been awful.
