This past week my world is greening up.
The gardens are looking more green and I am getting spring flowers.
These quick photos may show that my garden is behind the gardens of a lot of you, and therefore not very dramatic, but I am excited to finally see spring.
And from my morning walk
There was a crisp breeze to keep the bugs away. It would be a good day to finish my bark mulching, but I'm off to meet my daughter and then take the trip down to visit my mom.
Of course I have to borrow my husband's car since yesterday I hit a deep pothole on my way to work. That blew a tire and even bent the rim. So my car is sitting in the shop waiting for the new tires (I had to replace all 4) to arrive on Monday. That was just the first of a long list of things that didn't work. Yesterday was just not my day.
But it is a new day and the sun is shining.
And here's this week's page from my calendar journal. It was a quickie as I used lots of punch outs from Studio Light. I did add a bit of white penned details to some of these blooms. And I used the background that was already in the journal.
The quote is stamped. It's an oldie from Postmodern Design.
I am linking this page up to Art Journal Journey because there is blue sky and that fun sun image. This month the challenge is In the Air/In the Sky.
I hope to see you at the challenge.
And Happy Weekend!

Your Spring flowers look beautiful. Amazing what a day or two of sunshine will do. Sorry about your tire. The town roads here are terrible and folks in town have complained about tire damages. People said you can complain to the town where the damage happened and maybe get reimbursed for the expense. 4 new tires ouch for the cost, but at least you'll have a smooth ride. Your journal page is very cute with all the flowers blooming under the watchful sun. So glad the sun is out today. Have a safe trip South. Don't know what area of the city your mom lives, but WPI is graduating today. Hope grad events don't impact your parking.
I know how wonderful it is to see spring flowers growing, especially after the long, hard winter you had. Enjoy! Sorry about the damage to your car, how annoying. Hope you didn't hurt yourself. Your calendar journal is gorgeous. Have a great trip to your mom. Hugs, Valerie
I'm so sorry to hear about your disastrous pothole encounter. My daughter's had 3 tire-mangling events due to potholes recently, so I can sympathize. I love your quote and the Lady illustrating it :) I hope your trip is a fun one :)
beautiful blooms!! loved your art page too
Sorry to hear you had troubles with your car! Always annoying! But I think you will have a great time with your daughter and mother though - the three generation woman meeting sounds super!!
Happy Mother's Day with your daughter and Mom dear Erika! Don't forget to take photos from this lovely charming woman for me !

It does sound like yesterday wasn't your day, Erika, but going with your daughter to see your mother should be a nice visit. Happy Mother's Day to you and your mom as well. Glad to see the blooms in your yard too.
What a super calendar journal page - I bet you had lots of fun creating that one. There is so much to see and such wonderful colours too.
Love the photos of your walk, gosh that is a long straight road but I imagine there is lots going on in the hedgerows to keep you occupied as you wend your way along. Great garden photos too, love the fat that you have sunny daffodils still out in your garden - they always make me feel happy with their cheerfulness.
Hugs, Neet xx
It sounds like you are pleased the week is over, at least you are able to borrow your husbands car to meet up with your daughter.
The photos of your garden look lovely, its good to see the flowers begin to bloom.
I love the fantastic journal page and the punch outs, I have a few ideas to use mine, but time is not on my side.
I hope you have a good Sunday.

Rick thinks there are no potholes in New England because we never see any when we visit and the roads here are so abominable it's like a third world country. I'm so sorry you hit the pothole but I'll have to tell him NH is not immune.
Those long-stemmed curly green pods -- what ARE those? I will be posting a photo of the same sometime next week asking if anyone knows. We saw them on our walk yesterday.
Life looks lovely inyour world -- apart from the tire...
Goodness Erika. I feel so sorry for you. Potholes are to be expected with all the rain, freezing, thawing, rain, etc. I hope they fix the one your car "stepped" in, soon. But, visiting your mother with your daughter was a joy, I'm sure.
Your journal page is super wonderful, dear. It's the perfect addition to your theme at Art Journal Journey. I LOVE the sun. It's so inspiring.
I so enjoyed your spring garden, dear. It makes up for mine, which has died out now. I can enjoy yours and extend the season a bit. I think your walk is wonderful and I am SO impressed by all the trees and sloping hills you have there.
I thought you might want to know, the water is finally out of my basement, but the walls are still damp. I have bleached everything, and don't seem to have any mold. I just needed a day filled with sunshine and no rain to finally get a handle on it.
