Hi everyone. Happy May! I am not sure where April disappeared to but a new month is upon us.
This is sure a busy few days of blog posts for me. First there was T day, Then the new Things with Wings Challenge at Try It On Tuesday, and now I am here to tell you I am hosting this month over at
Art Journal Journey And then tomorrow it is time for Second on the Second.
And I want to send Huge thanks to Susi, Bleubeard, and Elizabeth for having me back as a hostess again. I much appreciate the opportunity and look forward to hosting this month.
And for May, the new theme is
In the Air/In the Sky.
Think about all the beautiful things you see flying through the air or what you see when you look up into the sky.
So we have a saying here (and maybe where you live too) that when your are day dreaming or not focused on what you should be that your head is in the clouds. That is what I used as inspiration for my first page this month.
With the nice weather here (finally for me), my head is certainly day dreaming about all the things I could be outside doing rather than sitting in my classroom with kids whose heads are also in the clouds. Smile.
I began my page by collaging ripped pieces of 2 papers, one solid blue and one white with colored stars. Then I lightly gessoes over them and also gave them a wash with some waterdown light blue acrylic paint. I added a bit of white swirly lines too.
I painted my clouds with thick white acrylic paint, outlined them with black Stabilo pencil. I also added just a touch of silver glitter glue to them.
The head is an ancient Postmodern Design stamp from my stash which I stamped on white paper, colored and then cut out and added to the page. And finally I added the stickers for my quote.
I hope you all have some airborne inspiration and some time to join us this month at Art Journal Journey
