A Winter Day

Winter is back. Some fresh snow, a bit of icet glisten to the trees, wind and lots of cold.
But the sky is blue and there is lots of sun coming through the windows as you can see in my bedroom skylight here.
It was a good day to keep the woodstove filled. I don't know if you can see my book over by my rocking chair, but you can see the bright spot where the light is on. It was also a good day to sit and read by the fire.
I disappeared into my happy place for a few hours too and thought I would share something I worked on.
More fun takes on heart quotes.
And today I finished my short little heart idiom journal.

I am linking up these views of my Language of Hearts Journal  to Elizabeth's Hearts theme at Art Journal Journey.

They are fun simple pages  and I have one more post with the rest of these.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll be back at the beginning of the week for T.

Your living room looks so cozy, a perfect spot to hang out on a cold day. I have a bear ottoman in the sun room, too! I also enjoyed more of your heart quotes. (You had me with the kitty on the page). Who knew there were so many heart idioms! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Stay warm and cozy

Wow, your floors are so shiny, it looks like you just polished them. You have a great place to read. I had a similar stove in my home in MO. I used to keep a tea kettle on the stove, and had lots of friends who preferred tea to my coffee.

I'm really loving these. I need to come up with a few of these, but mine would never be as clever and well drawn as yours. Thanks for sharing yet another great set of hearts with us at Art Journal Journey, dear friend.

Ohhhh!!!
Oh. I used to sleep under such a window when living with my parents.
I loved the rain drumming me to sleep! I so miss it! (We live ground floor).
Oh. The jacket?
To read by the fire, wonderful! We have a swing in the living room :-)
And a fake fire near my PC. Aw, well ;-)

Ohhh, I LOVE your hearts!!!

This was a fun post, thank you, you cheered me up so much!
Thank you, big hugs!

Oh my gosh, you are doing some incrediably fun pages with hearts. I love them all. The hearts a flutter is especially fun as is the heavy heart. Love your cozy looking room. Stay warm!

Heart idioms, absolutely brilliant! You have my mind racing now but I wouldn't have a clue how to illustrate some of them.
Oh Erika, I love the first photograph but boy oh boy, does it look cold. I don't envy you the snow and ice so even the rain lashing on the windows and the wind howling down the chimney (the latter is poetic rather than real) seems a better alternative at the moment. I love to look at the snow though but the thoughts of driving in it makes me shudder.
I just fell in love with your happy place, so warm and cosy I can just imagine curling up with a good book there. Enjoy!
Hugs, Neet xx

Brrrrr!!! It looks like you have a warm cozy spot to settle into with your book. I love your heart phrases and your art interpreting them. "Heart Attack" is a much better idea of that phrase than what is usually brought to mind. Sweet :)

i love your living room!! I really miss our woodstoves we have two of them in our woods house and up until about three years ago we heated only with wood-I loved it. we have a woodstove here at the lake house but the owner had a big chimney fire so we need to redo things before we can use it.
I loved your heart pages too-happy Monday hugs Kathy
