More Paint Pouring

Happy Friday. Another week has flown by. I must be having lots of fun because work weeks never went by this quickly. Smile!

Today I have a page for Wendy's bird challenge at Art Journal Journey

I mentioned pouring paint on Wednesday this week, and it is also what I used to create the background for this page. It's another of my first try practice pages. You can see I used a credit card to spread some of the paint out and also to create some lines.

Some of you commented how it seemed like pouring paint was a waste of paint or made a mess. Yes, it could be both, but I hate wasting paint and  other disposable  supplies, so I only poured a bit on the page and did not let it run over the edge of my paper. I did really like the thick surface it created, and the colors are bold. Also,  the blending is random so that it is always an adventure to see what you get.

Once the paint dried, I added some large stamped and fussy color flowers. I used some pink paint to create the colorful stamen "tips" and also added some various pink sequins to the centers to add some depth. The birds are from an old clear stamp set from 7Gypsies (you may remember them from back in the early to mid 2000's) that I fussy cut. On the smaller bird I added a silver paper crown. And finally I stamped the quote.

I am also linking up to day 20 at Art Everyday Month.

Have a great start to your weekend. And of course, thanks for visiting!

I've seen some videos of paint pouring, and it must be fun to try this. I'd think that thickness of the paint would leave a different surface than other techniques.

Your page is really beautiful and I love your technique-I may need to try this out soon. so you need to use the pour paints?
Once I was retired after a year or so I realized how so fast the time flies by. I think it's because I was more relaxed, less stressed out and No more watching the clock-when retired it doesn't matter what time it is-most of the time Happy Friday hugs Kathy

I have to admit, this is the most unique and different paint pour I've ever seen, Erika. I really like it, though. The background is so unusual, BUT the birds are what actually made me very happy. I had never seen those 7 Gypsies stamps before, but I sure LOVE them. They are also perfect for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

A~ fab bright page with some gorgeous flowers. I love the stamens you have created inside them all. What a good idea paint pouring in a journal. As for wasting paint you can always do a mop up with another page on your craft table or use some card to start creating beautiful backgrounds.
Pour away when the spirit takes you.
Hugs, Neet xx

It seems like it's not a waste of paint if you make something you beautiful and love. I think the results are terrific.
