Hi everyone. Happy Friday to you.
My art time has been limited this month as I've been busy. Between working in the gardens and getting my new art space put together, I occasionally squeeze in a little play time. I just have a bit of work left to do on the bee garden I am assembling. Then, other than weeding as needed or when I feel like it, the gardens are complete for the season. Hurrah!
And my art space is coming along nicely. I am ready to put down the rug I picked up and assemble a new table that my husband got me for my birthday back in March. More about that in a later post.
Once the table goes in I will have a better idea of my final space. I still have a couple of small storage units and a couple of wheeled carts I hope I can put in the room. And I am still rearranging supplies to get better use out of the space. I imagine the rearranging will go on for awhile, especially once I start working and using things again.
If time allows, the rug and table assembly will happen this weekend, so keep your fingers crossed. I've set a goal for myself of having everything complete by the July 4th holiday weekend, especially since my daughter and her beau will be here for part of it. That means her old bedroom needs to be back together so the 2 of them can get into and out of the room, as well as have a bed to sleep on. Smile.
In my supply cleaning, I came across an old drawing pad from 2008. In April of that year I took a 5 week drawing class at our local high school one night a week through community education. The teacher was great, and some of us had so much fun that we continued to meet one night a week to have a drawing lesson at people's homes throughout the summer and early fall.
Since I don't have a whole lot of new things to share, let me show you a drawing from that time. I've never posted these before, so all of my drawings from this pad are new to my blog.

I love the draw of chimp...so vivid and playful.
I'm looking forward to seeing the bee garden and your craft room. Fun drawing. I can hear the chimp say to Jane, I'm pleased to meet you.
I, as well, love the chimp’s face! He looks a bit tentative but reached out anyhow. Very nice interaction there!
Both Jane and the Chimpanzee are fun. I don't know that I have ever seen a photo of a YOUNG Jane Goodall.
A beautiful drawing with great interaction. I hope this comment reaches you, I’ve had some trouble with that.
Interesting connection. The lady looks shy, the chimp friendly.
Happy you linked to Art For Fun Friday
Much❤love
Good morning Erika, thank you for sharing your drawing-that sounds like it was a good art experience with the lessons.
congrats on your garden and your art space is almost finished so it's time to celebrate-hugs

You _have_ been busy! I'm especially looking forward to seeing the bee garden :)
Fun, fun, fun! equals lots of joy. :-) Your chimp has a lot of life to her.
I love your sketch Erika! The monkey is so well done. And the lady (Jane) is wonderful!! I try to avoid drawing hands at all costs lol...I can never get them right! Your chimp hand is great!
OMGosh Erika this a fabulous!!!! I know you are busy with summer things so I want to thank you for joining me with Friday Face OFF. You nailed it.
Have a great day.
I really hear you regarding time but I like your goal date.. it's the same date we have been given for the handover of keys to my MIL's new property.. then the real hard work starts remodelling it. I'm looking forward to seeing your Bee garden and renewed craftroom.
Lovely to see you share an older sketch today, you have captured the chimps face and his shape beautifully, I agree he's probably saying so good to know you Jane. Fabulous share, hope you have a super weekend Hugs Tracey xx
Love how you call him the beau :-)
And I love your sketch!
Happy weekend, and hugs.
You've been quite the busy bee yourself.
I'll look forward to seeing pictures of your new art space when it's complete. I only just recently reorganised some of the drawers and contents in my studio to make it work better for me. Does it ever end? hehe
I hope everything goes to plan for you.
I love your drawing of Jane Goodall with the chimpanzee! It would have been lovely meeting up once a week with fellow artists.
Have a wonderful weekend. x
Great progress you've made, now to enjoy a little. Lovely sketch, I do like the chimp's face and nice hands, xoxo
