T Stands for a Day on the Dock

Hi everyone. It is time for T again. I hope everyone has had a nice week since our last T day meet up.

My week was busy, but not with too many chores for a switch. Hurrah!

This past Saturday we had some gorgeous summer weather. My daughter and her fiance were visiting too, and we spent a nice afternoon on the dock at my MIL's house on the lake. Not only was my MIL there, but one of my SILs, her husband as well as one of her daughters along with the daughter's husband were there, so we had a fun little get together for the afternoon.

The boys were enjoying the water. Pete was looking at me because he likes to swim with me, and he was ready to go back into the water- again. This is his 'it's time to swim Mom'  face.

The "kids" (although they are all 30 so not really kids) were busy planning a trip together to Florida for next winter.

Even my MIL was assisted down to the dock. She didn't do more than sit in her chair, but it was good she could join us.

And eat a cookie that my mooching dogs wanted a bite of. (And that they got too.)

We had a mid-afternoon picnic.

And here's my drink photos for T over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog.  I enjoyed an Old Brown Dog, a brown ale, before starting to drink a Diet Coke. I never finished the soda before putting it back in our cooler for another time, and then I switched over to some water which was more refreshing.

It was a nice way to spend a summer afternoon.

Of course, on every sunny day a little rain must fall. It didn't actually rain, but it was later discovered my MIL's septic was having issues and her first floor toilet and tub were filling up with discharge. EEEWW!  That night they had to pack up my MIL and bring her back to my SIL's home in Maine until it could be pumped and the problem diagnosed. This is how I spent much of my Monday morning, at her house while the septic people came. At least it was just me and the dogs (since I brought them along) so I could read and take it easy. Too bad it was stormy so I couldn’t take a morning swim.

I hope you have a wonderful T day and week ahead. Thanks for visiting my blog also.

Nothing like a summer gathering by the water I say - and with good food and drink to boot! Nice that even your MIL could be there for a bit. Hope that septic problem is completely repaired now!
Love that Pete wants you to swim with him.
Have a great week and happy T day!

Sounds like a great time spent with family. Your meal looks like the perfect summer plate. It was great that you were able to be there when your MIL had issues with her septic. Sounds like an awful problem to have but thankfully she was able to be somewhere else while it was being repaired.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Beautiful looking lake! But there's no household problem nastier than sewage back ups... I hope it's soon resolved.

What a wonderful dock your MIL has, and a wonderful family day at the lake. Loved the photos and your dog wanting to go back in for a swim-so fun.

Sounds like the perfect get together. Glad your MIL had a good time until the sewer backed up. It's great she and everyone are so comfortable around Pete and Maddie. Hope you were able to supervise a plumbing problem/

Your meal looked great and refreshing as only a nice summer meal can look. You shared lots of drinks this week, too. Thanks for sharing your time at the lake with your MIL and family, as well as your drinks with us for T this almost Tuesday.

Oh! Wonderful water pics! If we only had one like that here, too - and more warm weather.
At least we have popcorn and beer ;-)
Hmmm, that burger and corn, you live THE life :-)

The end of the story... not so much!
But reckon all is good again, so... to a happy T-Day! Hugs!

Dogs can be very expressive when they want something. Love how they are trying to hypnotise your MIL to give them something! Glad you all had a nice get-together and food and fun! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

The Lake looks beautiful and everyone looked to be having a good time. The dogs and MIL too!! :) I'll bet she enjoyed getting down there on the dock.. something maybe she could do now on her own.. I've never been a fan of Lake water.. River, ocean, pool... sure but something about swimming in Lake water is just not appealing to me.. Yeah.. hubby things i'm weird too...lol I do kayak on a Lake though.. Thank you for taking us too the Lake Erika! I hope you were able to clear up your MIL's septic... Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb

What a lovely day this must have been! The photo of your MIL with the dogs is my favorite - the dogs look so expectantly at the cookie! Spending a day at the lake and with people you love - it can't get much better, can it? (except when you go swimming again with the dog, of course).

What a lovely day and warm enough to be in the water! It's cold and wet over here so I would love some of your weather lol. Had to laugh at both dogs waiting for a cookie. Not fun about the septic tank though, glad the people were able to come out quickly. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

It sounds so fun and brings back so many great memories. My sister, her husband, and our whole family loved to swim and spend time on the dock at mom and dad's on Beaver Lake in Arkansas years ago. We had so much fun; sometimes taking lunch and all loading up on the boat for the whole day.
Thanks for sharing. Happy T Day!
