The Happy Couple

 Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing a page for Jo's texture challenge at Art Journal Journey

I made some texture on today's page  with some clear texture paste and  stencil on white watercolor paper. I used my black inkpad to bring out the texture and also to color my page. I then took some black printed tissue paper ad used it on parts of my page. The last of the black and white are the bride and groom TH found relative.

This page really needed color.  And what's a wedding without flowers? The bride in the found relatives  image has such a big bouquet that I  decided to use some colorful flowers from my stash and create a mini-bouquet. Those flowers add a whole new level of texture.

I was wedding inspired from the photos of my nieces wedding that I was emailed. We didn't attend because of Covid, and they kept the ceremony very small. Nor did they zoom the ceremony.
As you can see they were married on a rocky ledge near the ocean.  It looks like it was lovely.

I'm glad they had a wonderful day. I hope you do also.

That's all for me.  I'm off to visit a local garden today. Excited for some inspiration.
Thanks for visiting.

I like the burst of color on your page. Did brides really carry bouquets that big? Looks like your niece had a lovely, intimate wedding. Are those the rocks at Nubble light? Enjoy your day!

Such a beautiful page! I love the way you created the texture with the clear texture paste and emphasised it with the black ink - amazing 😁. The pretty flowers add texture as well as a lovely pop of colour and I can see how you were inspired by your neice's wedding - gorgeous! Such a wonderful place to get married, how romantic! Wishing the happy couple all the best! Take care and thanks for another inspirational page at AJJ! Hugs, Jo x

I just got back online after being without internet all day. I like the Happy Couple you created. The colorful flowers added the right amount of texture and color to go with TH paper dolls. This oozes texture and I like it. Thanks for inspiring us at Art Journal Journey using Jo's theme, dear.

I feel so sorry for these young folks who are having to postpone their weddings. So it was lovely to see this young couple enjoying starting married life in such a lovey setting as this. I wish them every happiness.
Just like the bride in your journal. Mind you brides of today do not have such huge bouquets as they did back then. I marvel at family photographs when I see the brides and bridesmaids with those huge bouquets - would cost a fortune today. Love how you incorporated texture with those silk flowers, what a glorious idea - and I have to say how much I enjoyed seeing the black and white background. It is rather special.
Hugs, Neet xx

Oh, Erika -- how beautiful. I love the black and white (I'm not even sure it needed color but it works. And oh, how I really adore the setting of the wedding. I wish you could have been there -- she's beautiful and it's such a lovely spot. I wish them all happiness.

What a fabulous page, my Mum and Dad married at the end of World War 2, as they both worked on a nursery her gift from the boss was a huge bouquet. Your niece's wedding looks wonderful. Hugs, Chrisx
