Watercolor Book 2

 Hi everyone.

Yesterday I showed you a watercolor book I made  for a class from Creative Jumpstart. I love making little books, so I made a second one. This time I used a warm color palette, and I made it with the intentions of turning it into a story book. The story this time is spring. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I like to think of spring as a time of lightness after all the heaviness of winter. I decided to go whimsical with my images because they're light, fun and playful.

Instead of taping my pages together, I stitched them together. Since I was at the machine, I added some decorative stitching on some pages.

I used all kinds of images to make book. The majority of my images were stamps or punch outs  from AALL & Create and Stampotique designed by Janet Klein, Paper Artsy's Elenazinski and also Studio Light's Art by Marlene. I also used a few quotes from Technique Tuesday.

I still have a couple of pages to finish up, but spring is mentally needed today so I decided to publish what I had finished. That storm that hit so much of the US has now moved in here in New Hampshire. We're not due for too  much snow or ice (we got our ice the other day), but still, it's a reminder that winter is not on her way out yet.

Have a great start to your weekend. And thanks for visiting.

Very sweet little creation to interest all ages. I like making books too but haven’t done a lot of it. I don’t have stamps to use, or cut outs, would need some inspiration for what to fill them with. It’s just a neat feeling to turn paper into a book!

Definitely needed some spring today, Erika, with a day of continued snow showers. But overall NH really has not had the misery that is affecting so many others in what's considered warmer states, but sadly with such unfortunate results.

This looks like the start of a fabulous little book and I think we all need to focus on Spriong being 'just around the corner' - can't wait.

Adorable book. I just love those big-eye girlie stamps. They are so happy looking. I'm happy the sun is out today. We only got 5 or so inches of snow over the two days. Temps. mid week are supposed to be close to 40. Woo-hoo!

Wow Erika, it's ONLY Sunday and I'm finally getting around to visiting you. Yes, I'm that far behind!! I plan to go back and see what else I've missed, too.

You certainly created some fun and adorable pages. I envy you and your sewing machine. Mine does zig-zag and one other, and that is it. You have a plethora of beautiful stitch designs to choose from. But that is just the icing on the cake. You have created some very adorable spring inspired art. I'm loving it all. I love the bunnies and the chickens guarding their eggs. I love the spring flowers and the quotes you used. This is one fabulous entry and I am so happy you shared it with us, too.

This is fantastic journal Erika, you know i'm partial to stitching on paper it gives everything a little handmade hug. Your paper loves all that colour, love paper that drinks the ink it always leaves an impact. Yes we all need to see the face of Spring now, with the mixed weather, freezing cold then silly rise in temperature it can't be good for us all. Hope you are keeping warm and that the snow hasn't caused too many problems?? Apologies for not catching up with comments i'm having issues leaving them as pages keep crashing so i'm having to type out on a note pad and copy and paste.. pain in the butt it is. Going to reset and update before bedtime and see if it fixes the issue.
The journal post below is so full of love.
Catch up with you in the week, take care Hugs Tracey xx
P.S Have fun with your creative jumpstart classes I see a few blog buddies getting involved x

What a super little book - I love the bright colours, it is indeed Spring-like. I too have Janet Klein figures and the Zinski ones from PPA but have yet to buy any from Art by Marlene. Only because I have not been anywhere to buy them as yet.
