Hi everyone. Happy October to you. I feel like I was just writing happy May or happy June (grin) and now here we are in autumn. October is a lovely month though, one of my favorites, and I'm excited for our new Art Journal Journey challenge also. (FYI, this is a scheduled post as I'll be home from Quebec sometime today-October 1.)
But first, let me thank Aimeslee for being a great host last month. I think we all enjoyed her Anything Goes challenge. It was a lot of fun to see all the various themes people used on their journal pages. Thanks again Aimeslee for hosting, and thank you everyone who joined in.
This month I want to welcome the talented Alison, who you probably know from her blog Crafty Trog's Arty Adventures. The theme she chose is
Autumn Colors and Inspiration
My first page for this Autumn theme is one from my Harvest/Garden journal. Autumn is the season of Scarecrows, and for some people counting up their garden trophies. And of course, you wouldn't need a scarecrow if it wasn't for crows.
On the left side of my page I have a watercolored background, a die cut and colored scarecrow as well as some die cut wheat shafts and crows. There's also a stamped and fussy cut crow and a couple of layers of tape. On the right side I have a watercolored background, a stamped garden image (that I used markers to color), some more die cut crows, and a fussy cut image of a blue ribbon that I then enhanced with a brighter blue marker and some glitter glue.
Please remember at
Art Journal Journey we only accept art journaling, but any type of journaling works for us. Please no cards, tags, ATC's and other non-journaling forms. And if you link up through social media, we may not be able to comment on your post.
I hope you're as excited about autumn colors and autumn inspired art, and we'll see your journaling at Alison's challenge.

I love your scarecrow and the crows that you added. That is a great page. Autumn is the time when we have fairs and they bring out all those blue and best of show ribbons. What a wonderful way to share. Thanks for this great first entry using Alison's theme.
Hi Erika. I hope you've enjoyed your trip. I'm looking forward to seeing your Autumn inspired pages this month.
I love this page with the crows and that fabulous scarecrow.
Happy October!

Awwwww, love your scarecrow - my two say "hi" from the balcony :-)
Fabulous page! The scarecrow issuch fun and I love how you added the wheat shafts and crows - perfect 😊. Happy October! Hugs, Jo x
Love your Autumn scene here with the scare crow and crows! (I'm not sure he's doing his job! LOL) The prize ribbon reminds me of the fair and all of the yummy goodies that come out! Hope your travels were amazing!
Happy October back to you, Erika, and yes this is also my favorite time of year. I am hoping that there will still be some fall colors to enjoy in NH when we return from our travels.
I hope you enjoyed the trip.
Wishing you a happy October.
All the best Jan
I love the scarecrow! I just love the page. The wheat you die cut is fabulous, can I ask who makes this die please? It just looks like a cool autumn morning on your page and across from it is a lovely image showing all the beauty of a garden - the gardener obviously won the best in show for his produce.
Great pages!
Hugs, Neet xx
A gorgeous Fall page and you have a lot of crow dies! Hard to believe it is already October, xoxo
WOW, Erika! Your 2-paage spread is absolutely gorgeous. And yes, I agree! How did October happen so fast this year? We are enjoying the fall colors weather, too, here in Pennsylvania! I especially like your water-colored background on both of your stunning pages. Thank you!! Hugs, Sharon
