Hi there! I took last week off for Thanksgiving break. It was Black Friday here in the US and the hubby and I went out and did some shopping. But I'm back today with a journal page that's different for me. Lots of red and I put my images and words on the bottom. I let the paint and stenciled background speak for itself.
Then I added the little squirrel die cuts because this page just called out for them. Something a little whimsical.
I don't know where this page came from since when I get up most mornings lately it isn't very bright. Such a dark time of year. I use a light alarm to get up on those still night like mornings for work, and it broke when I put it on this past Monday. Now I am using the alarm clock and how I hate to wake up to noise. Having the room get slowly light is such an easier way to wake up.
Hopefully Santa will think to get me a new Biobrite light!
I've also been dealing with my mom's dementia a lot this week. We now have a social worker involved so hopefully we can get her securely placed in a some type of care facility soon.
Just getting to this point is exhausting, but knowing we have some help is a huge relief.
That's it for me today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It must be a hard time for you, good that you have the prospect of help, and can relax with your beautiful art. Valerie
Gorgeous texture and colors. :) Love the contrast on the bottom as well.
Lovely bright journal page and the addition of the squirrels is very clever and effective.
Sorry to hear about your mom, that's really hard for you both.
Beautiful work, Erika. Carving out time for creativity helps get us through the harder times. Wishing you ease with the transition with your Mom. Stay Merry and Bright through all this.
love the addition of the squirrels on your page Erika! I have been a caregiver most of my adult life. It can be difficult at times but knowing help is available for the best type of care is also very comforting. Wishing you all the best with caring for your mom.
Love your page. Sorry to hear about your Mom, its is so hard my sister and I had to deal with putting our mum into care last year as her alzheimers got so bad and I have to say it was the best all around as she became more stable and actually improved a little mentally. However art is a wonderful tool for coping!
Oh sorry to hear about your mom that's so difficult! I think your artwork is very festive and beautiful and hopefully cathartic!

I love the composition of this page: the vibrant red colours and wonderful textured background, and the words at the bottom. Beautiful page. So sorry to hear about your mom's dementia. It is a terrible disease, not only for the family but for the affected person as well. Wishing you lots of strength ♥
Beautiful rich colors and images! Happy PPF!
