Time to Bloom

HI everyone. Happy Thursday to you.

This week Rain's Thursday challenge theme is Flowers Blooming.

First let me share this art journal page for Matilde's bird challenge at Art Journal Journey. You can see it has both birds and flowers blooming.

I think flowers in a garden without any birds singing nearby just wouldn't seem complete.

It was very relaxing to make this page and layer all the papers as well as the images. This month has not been the busiest art month for me as I've had lots of indoor and outdoor chores to do. I won't mention the indoor ones, although I am HAPPILY  moving art supplies back into the new space. I'll be sharing  photos soon.  I also get very carried away every spring with my gardens as I love  putting my hands in the dirt and planting.

The first thing I always plant are my flowers. What can I say, I love flowers. They might be seen as frivolous parts of the plant world as they bloom for such a short time. But they do feed bees and other pollinators. And they  produce the seeds to keep the plant species going. Plus (just as an aside) they just make me happy to look at.

Last week I planted many of the containers on my back deck until I ran out of plants. That's OK because it meant another trip to the greenhouse. Hurrah! Good thing I know this about myself and always budget May as plant buying month. Smile.

Here's some photos to share which I took after we had a little rain shower.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you're having a great week.

The blooms in your garden must make for happy bees as well, Erika.

Thanks for your comment on my recent Pepsi post. Yes, there is a museum for Dr Pepper and its formula was also created by a pharmacist, just like Coca-Cola & Pepsi in Waco, TX. And, there’s a museum there in a former bottling plant which charges admission for a self-guided tour. Unless we are on a future road trip, we may not visit that museum, but you never know as Grenville is a Dr Pepper fan too. I know that Polar is a NEw England product and we have seen the bear (Orson) atop the bottling facility in Worcester, MA, but don’t know if it can be toured. But, yes, it would be a good road trip.

Beautiful page! Loving your colourful design and all the layers and texture are fabulous 😁. Your photos are gorgeous too, the water droplets from the rain shower on the flowers look amazing! I hope you're having a good week, sorry I haven't been around we've had problems with the internet so I couldn't post or visit, luckily an engineer came out and it's all fixed - yay! Happy wishes! Hugs Jo x

I love the lady in the flowery 70´s dress and the quote!
Making you happy should not be a side-note! 🧡
I´m not sure, I´ll plant and I´ll get some flowers from our nursery just for in case the seeds keep sleping...
Beautifuls flowers you´ve got, thank you for the smile and hugs from here!

Love your yellow page and quote. Such colorful flowers, I even love the green leaves. We've been enjoying our new cactus and succulent area and our lantana and wandering jew has bloomed for 2 months, but now the lantana is going to berries. Honey is cutting the airplane plant's babies and rooting and planting them in pots. We have been enjoying it too, xoxo

Your journal page is bright and delightful and your flowers are gorgeous especially with the sparkling drops of water on them ... though a few look like the rain got a little rough with them. Yes, I agree, we do have to budget for our spring flowers as they have become very expensive unless you have the patience to start from seed like Rain does. I do think that the beauty and joy flowers bring into our lives is worth the cost though I also wish, as they are products of nature, they would still be free :) Enjoy your gardens Erika ...

I love that quote you chose for your journal page, it's SO true! Lovely artwork! Oh Erika, your flower garden is so pretty! I concentrate so much on veggies, I sometimes forget about flowers! I would love to have a big beautiful flower garden, it's on my never ending wish list, lol! Don't they look so pretty after a little rain? I love raindrops on petals!! ♥

I was SURE I had left a comment here, but obviously not. I LOVE the background and all those layers. They are great for Matilde's theme at AJJ.

You have beautiful and very colorful flowers for your garden. The bees will love them.

I love what you created as a journal page, Erika! The textures, the colors, the quote, the little chicks. It's gorgeous! And your rain-spotted flowers and leaves are striking. Life is short and can be challenging. It's important to indulge in things that make us happy. I often think about how drab the world must have been before the evolution of flowers! Have a happy week!
