Hi everyone. Happy weekend to you.
We woke this morning with no power. Oh no. And lots of heavy wet snow. Oh no. And it's still snowing, but we should be at the end of the storm. Oh yes.
Luckily the woodstove just needed a bit of fiddling to get it going since we had it going last night. And luckily we have the generator, and my husband is home to get it running. It takes some circuit breaker fiddling and specific connecting to get it going, and even though I have a long list of instructions how to get it going, I'll be honest, playing around with the generator kind of scares me.
I felt bad for the birds, so once it was light I went outside and cleared off their feeders.
The snow is pretty though. Just like a white Christmas card image.
And the dogs like it.
I'm not looking forward to doing some post storm clean up, but I am going to take advantage of limited power from the generator (about 20% of what we'd have if our power was on) and relax with my book for most of the morning.
Have a great Saturday.

Wow! You guys got slammed. We got rain, rain, and more rain. The snow we had last week is all washed away. Stay warm!
Oh no, you did get a lot of snow, sorry about the power outages. The photos look gorgeous, really perfect, a snowy dream. My doggies loved snow, too. Glad you had a relaxing morning. I put my feet up this afternoon and fell asleep 3 hours later, but I think I needed it! Have a good weekend, stay safe, hugs, Valerie
So COLD and so beautiful! Stay warm, Erika.
We are lucky, the storm passed us by. My daughter in Ottawa got really clobbered. We did the annual Christmas Bird Count today so I was glad that we didn't have to contend with deep snow. The temperatures hovered right around the freezing point and it was really quite pleasant. For years we used to make sandwiches for lunch, but for the past few years we have gone to Swiss Chalet - a lovely tradition we have established. Hugs - David
Yikes! That's sooo much snow! No power sounds scary, so I'm glad to hear you have a generator to make up for some of it.
That's a lot of snow, Erika, and you can tell how heavy and wet it is by how bent the tree branches are. It's so beautiful, but deep snow can certainly disrupt your life. It's great that you have a wood stove and a generator. I would be a little scared of a generator too. Stay warm and safe. Enjoy the sunup to Christmas!
You got SNOW!! It's lovelyn until soneoine walks in it. Then the magic is gone. Pleade stay safe and warm. Ours is on the way the first of the week.
It sure looks like winter.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Hi Erika, glad you are able to stay warm with your stove and generator. Stunning photos of the snowfall. Hoping that your bees are keeping warm, too. XOX
OH! I´m SO with you! Ingo giving me instructions over the phone 0with the heating not seeing what I do... gahhhh....
Glad you had help for real at hand!
Argh, yes, that was on my list, too! A new birdhouse. And so much more. I didn´t leave home.
My Nieces would love to visit you! It´s just cold, way too cold for the season but no snow.
Wow you did get a snow storm-looks perfect for Christmas week-I do miss not having a working woodstove. there is one here at the lake but the previous owner had a large chimney fire so that needs fixed. I would not want to mess with any electric instructions either
we are very very cold here brrr and the lake house is really cold in the winter.
the dogs will have fun playing in the snow
Beautiful wintry photography ~ Wow! Love the doggies ~ Xo

Beautiful, good you have a generator though.
Its interesting to see the snow. We never have it here :)
It looks like Narnia. And where's the Snow Queen? I hope your power is back in gear soon. Your photos? Stunning.
You certainly did get walloped, Erika, unlike us in Nashua, NH, where all we had here was a day of rain. Good that you had a wood stove and generator as I was reading about the power outages throughout the state. Beautiful winter scenes right before Christmas, but cleanup is never much fun so hope you relaxed with that book.
I can't wait to get out and take some good pictures of snow this year. Yours are so pretty!
All we got was lots of rain. I'd rather have the snow. I'm glad you do have a generator and a hubby who knows what to do. The pictures are beautiful some could be on a Christmas card
Heavy wet snow. The worst! I was lucky here in CT, and had rain.
