Use 3 Colors

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday once again.

It is time for a new challenge at Try It on Tuesday. Thanks to all of you who joined our Summer Blooms challenge and also to Carol from Crafty Stamper for being our host last challenge.

This time around our challenge is
Use 3 Colors.

We had a bit of chat on our admin website about this challenge because the question arose about your base color and your stamping color.  Were they to be included in the use 3 colors theme? It was decided that by 3 colors  you should use 3 colors in your art-but that doesn't have to include black stamping nor your base color.

My 3 colors are yellow, blue and black, even if black stamping doesn't count as my color.

Today I have a rather abstract card to share. I used some textured paper (the blue is actually textured not striped but the shadow from when I photographed it makes it look striped). On the yellow piece I used black ink to define the circles, and then I added blue Stickles into each circle center.  The transparency is from a Dina Wakely set; the stamp is from a very old Kim Hughes set, and the dashed border is hand done with a Sharpie.

Maybe not my most interesting card, but I had fun making it. I think it's always interesting to try new ideas and designs to see what you get.

You have 2 weeks to join us for our Use 3 Colors challenge. I hope you're feeling inspired and will link up some art with us at Try It On Tuesday.

Thanks for visiting.

I like the colors and the wise words. We definitely should not take ANYTHING for granted. Sitting here watching the floods and thinking how we all take so much for granted. Lovely creation, Erika. Hugz

Hi Erika. I'm not feeling well so have cut to the latest post but I read them all. I'm so glad your cold left town and you are feeling better. And good work on the dock and that garden is gorgeous, looks gloriously natural. Nice page and great quote. The 3 colors are nice, but I may not be able to do that one. We'll see. Will you get to see the Northern Lights on Thursday? Very cool for those who are lucky enough. Hope your area doesn't get the flooding, amazing to me what 4-6 inches of rain does up there! Have a good week XOX

Its a super abstract look for this card Erika and a fantastic choice of colours, we sure did debate this issue on the Admin.
I'm on my weekly catch up mode. Have a good rest of the week.

A great page Erika, love the blue/yellow and the bold black for your colour choice. That sentiment is so true.
