Trees

Hi everyone. Happy middle of the week to you.

I'm busy with holiday "chores" this week. Most of the things on my list really aren't chores, as they are fun to do, but I'm not a fan of wrapping gifts and that's on my agenda this week. I figure I might as well get that "chore" finished and be done with it. Luckily it's not like I have as many gifts as Santa does-smile.

Today I have some trees to share. First of all I have a page for Jo's Snowy Winter challenge at Art Journal Journey

I used thick black acrylic paint and a stencil on my background. Then I sprayed the watercolor paper background with purple and blue inks.
I also had some scrap deli paper that I worked on when I stenciled  some chipboard stars,  so I added a bit of that to my background also.

I cut the trees out of a sheet of winter paper and glued them down. Then I used some  star fabric trim across the bottom. I stamped the snowflake swirl image a couple of times on acetate and added those to my page. Then I was stuck, but after looking at this page for a few days, I thought of the little dog image I had. I know my dogs just love to run in the snow, so I figured he would too.

I was almost finished with my page. The dog inspired me to add the dashing through the snow quote, and since it is so small, I stamped it randomly around my page several times.

And if winter isn't your favorite thing, how about some place tropical and warm? Pinky's challenge at Tag Tuesday is trees, so today I have a palm tree and beach for you.

I used some paints, watercolor pencils, and a bunch of punch outs and stickers to make my tag.

That's all for me today. Hope your week is going well.

I certainly love the last one most! The other sure is beautiful, too, but I prefer warm weather (surprise (not)).
Maybe next year this time you find us at Hillarys beach in the North of Perth like that.
Love the blue Gurri, too! Hugs

We had snow for a few days, but it has all melted and the bare trees look anything but festive! They are resting up, however, and getting ready for spring. That's all we can ask of them. Hugs - David

I love how the snow looks on the trees. The perfect amount! They say a big storm is headed our way by the end of the week. Which is soon!

We've become gift bag converts, so wrapping presents is a breeze. I love the snowy trees piece. It's a glimpse at a snowy scene I wonder if we'll see here. Ya never know...

I didn't get an update, so am late visiting. I LOVE those snow covered trees and that background is awesome. Just stunning. This is a perfect entry for Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey.

Of course, you know I'm a HUGE fan of palm trees, so that tag made me smile. Stay warm, dear.

Great page and tag, Alison. We just give cash, that's so lazy but nobody complains, in fact I think they prefer it. Especially this year. Have fun with the rest of your chores and week! xoxo

Such a gorgeous page and tag! Loving the snowy winter you created with that beautiful background of paint and stencilling, and those trees are gorgeous 😊. It looks like the little dog is enjoying playing in the snow too! Thanks so much for the AJJ inspiration and wishing you a very happy Friday and weekend! Hugs Jo x

But I also like to sit on the beach.

I enjoy making \Christmas cards but writing them and the envelopes and wrapping the gifts is not something I do well at all. Thank goodness I can pass that on to my other half who does a much better job.
I do like your journal page, I love the misty look you have achieved and the star trim looks fabulous for the little dog walking along them. Great colours too.
As are those on the tag, is that an Art by Marlene figure?
Hugs, Neet xx

Sorry I'm late Erika, got caught up with stupid necessities!! I love your journal page. The background is just like our weather at the minute!! Your tag made me smile, what a great quote too, just perfect. I have took the lazy route and put everyone's presents into gift bags, so much quicker!!
