Chilly Days

Hi everyone.  Happy weekend to you.
It's a chilly morning in New Hampshire, but not terrible. Certainly not arctic enough for a bear to need a sweater, smile.

I am here today with another page  for my Favorite Things challenge at Art Journal Journey.
I am also linking up to More Mixed Media which is anything goes with optional blue. I hope there's enough blue in this page, but I am guessing it is since blue is optional.

I can say the deep freeze is NOT one of my favorite things, but I do really like this page.  The purple, pink and dark blue sky is one thing I see a lot in winter, and I do enjoy.  Sunrises and sunsets in the cold can be gorgeous. Actually, they can be gorgeous anytime of year, but the colors that appear in winter seem to be outstanding. The sky sure gives us lots of wonderful views!
My page is made with spray inks. I had some white space at the bottom so I added a bit of white and silver glitter glue to give it that snow look.  The bear is from a Joggles collage sheet I had in my stash. I die cut the snowflakes, used bits of printed tissue and also stamped and cut out from a Paper Artsy stamp set.
I found a photo online of it just in case you are curious.

I've had this set for several years, and it gets a lot of use. I really should start showing what I use to make pages more often.

That's my art for  today. Not sure what's on the agenda this weekend. I am waiting for a box of extra large envelopes to arrive so I finish cleaning up this mess.

You can see I've been going through some old journal pages I had stored in a couple of plastic totes. What is more amazing is what else I found in that pile. There was a 9x12 stencil, some of my old school papers from when I was a child, as well as some tags I made a couple of years ago and wondered where they had gone.  There was also a box baby cards my mother received when I was born that she gave to me several years ago before she moved to the Assisted Living. Those have great vintage images or I would have thrown those away.
Anyhow, hoping the envelopes will arrive today so I can organize and  put the pages I want to keep into them and put them on the shelves with my finished journals.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for visiting.

What a cute polar bear and beautiful page. Love the look of the spray inks and their blends.

I'm seeing lots of lovely things on your floor. I MUST get the big tree down this weekend. I'd rather be painting or reading. Nearly to the end of Ruth!

The Winter colors are pretty and I love the bear in his sweater. I can easily do without the cold and snow. Sounds sunny and dry for the next few days. Enjoy!

What great finds! I always go through everything page by page for fear of throwing out some important paper.

We had SNOW today! Your "bear" would´ve loved it (me... not so much ;-)... )
Yes, have that one journal dad made for me when I was born, love this.

That polar bear is amazing. I thought you doodled the sweater. It's a chilly page that is exacerbated by the blue. I think it works well. It's a great piece for your theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

Cute bear, I have PJs that look a bit like that!
Perfect. Yesterday was just like that, post to come soon, I took a video of stomping through the snow (all gone again, phew, Ingo has to drive to work).
Love the music-part, too!
Oh, I still have old school-notes, that I´ll keep. About my "art"-projects... I´m not sure if I keep them? Some hang on the door...

I love this page Erika, those colours represent such lovely Winter Skies! That stamp set is one of my favourites too and the polar bear looks to be a friendly kind of bear!
I have all sorts of things to get organised in my craft room but at the moment have no sense of urgency!!!
Hugs, Chrisx

How sweet and wonderful winter time this journal page shows with the polar bear.Oh yes, a lot came together and I keep thinking about how I can stow it away.
Have a good week, hugs Elke

Lovely artwork. Yes, the skies are quite beautiful in Winter. We had a gorgeous sunrise here in CT this morning. It's cold here, too, but probably not as bad as you. They're going back and forth for this coming weekend, about a storm. Right now they're saying it should be warm enough here that we will get mostly rain. (Fingers crossed.)

I absolutely love this page Erika! The colours, the bear, and the words are all wonderful!
It's amazing what you find when you have a sort out. That's why it usually takes so long!

Isn't it surprising what you find when you start going through things. I am in the midst of tidying my craft room at the moment and have unearthed letters from a magazine dated 2006.
Great wintry scene, I like the colours you have used, surprising how pink still says "cold", love that bear.
Hugs, Neet xx
