Hi everyone. Happy Wednesday. I hope everyone is having a nice week so far.
Today I have a page for Halle's challenge at Art Journal Journey. The theme, if you don't yet know, is "I've Got a Notion".
I started my page by stamping my page with some embroidery images from an ancient Hero Arts set. Here is the set; I borrowed this photo from someone's eBay site. Thank you to whoever this seller is.
I also die cut a couple of various lace style strips. One strip I die cut in white and then inked it to age it, and the other strip I die cut in pink to match the colors on my page. I also added some tan ribbon too. The 2 characters are a TH people image. The buttons were from an old stamp set (probably older then the Hero Arts set), that I punched out and then threaded a bit of actual thread through. And the quote comes from another very old sewing rubber stamp set, this time from the long defunct Cornish Heritage Farms step manufacturers.
And here's a few summery photos to wrap up this post:
Here's my garden buddy, a pickerel frog.
My zinnia's are blooming and look great.
Seed pods are forming on the milkweeds.
My grapes on my grapevine are getting big.
I'm not sure what kind of fly this guy is but he was a big one.
And I spotted this hummingbird moth at a geranium one day.
Have a great day!

Your Pickerel Frog is a very handsome fellow. Not a species I see often. All the best - David
...you captures the frog well, they are too fast for me.
Great page and quote! Plan: Finally visiting my Brother soon. Cute garden buddy and ohhh, the flowers!
To summer, have a great day, hugs
That frog looks beautiful and I love the grapes. I don't like flies..I am just happy that my cats are getting them.
Pickerel frog--something new to me.
Beautiful post Erika
Hugs Kathy
Love that sweet little frog, and your page is absolutely gorgeous Erika. The alphabet stamp in the background is fab!
Happy mid-week xx
Now THAT is a most unusual frog! Never seen one like that. And your art piece is just lovely!
I LOVE your journal page, really fantastic! LOVE it!That huge fly looks rather horrible, but the frog is sweet! And greapes, that's something great! Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
Fun page and great photos!
Your page either sewing or making art about sewing is a perfect activity for the gloom outside. I like the buddies that are in your garden.
Great page.
Oh, I love the frog, and, most especially the hummingbird moth.
A sight to see. Good for you for finding one.
What a fantastic background you chose. The buttons are amazing and the TH paper dolls are ones I have never seen. This is a super entry for Halle's theme at AJJ.
I've never heard of a pickerel frog before. It sure has unique markings.
I wonder if my milkweed will produce seed pods this year. I grew them from a seed packet I bought at the garden center.
Those are some great close ups you got with your camera. I was watering my plants yesterday and a bee was gathering pollen from my plants. I was thrilled. Hope your day is going well.
I enjoy every photos that you share here ....
the frog has a great pattern...i usually see just green as common frog
your garden are very beautiful too...like the grape and zinnia that in my country called as kembang kertas. Have a nice day..
Hi Erika, I haven't visited you for a while because I was on vacation. I had some lovely days in greek islands: Rhodes (a big touristic island) and also Symi, Halki and Kastellorizo (small non touristic islands). Big hugs, my friend.
PS: I love your journal page. Very artistic style!
Love how you used the stamps in the background. I rarely stamp for cards unless it's a sentiment but I do love using those stamps as backgrounds.
Great images from the garden!!
Wow, really love the cross stitched lettering on this along with the vintage dolls! Such a fun page! Very cool photos of your garden and all that's happening!
Love the sampler page. Those two ladies look perfect on their and I wonder if the one on the right has made the blouses they are both wearing. Maybe the skirts would have been easier to make.
Hugs, Neet xx
