T Stands for Baking

Hi everyone. Tuesday is here again.
I had a nice relaxing weekend and kept myself busy without having any commitments, which was great. My last few weekends have had a lot going on.
One  thing I did this weekend was make some chocolate sourdough bread.
Let me offer you a slice. Not sure you can see the inside very well in this photo.
The bread is coco based, and then I altered the recipe a bit by adding whole chocolate chips rather than melting them and then adding them. I also added some walnuts.
I lightened it up here but not sure this photo is any better.
And since it is Tuesday it is  time to link up our drik related posts at

Here's my baking mess. (Plus all the counter clutter that I just pushed aside rather than putting away.) But can you just make out the teapot on the right (it is blue)  and behind my bowl an almost empty Diet Coke bottle? They are my entry to T day this week.
Stop by Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog   to join the T Day fun and see what everyone has been up to.
And how about bit of art today also. I want to remind everyone that the Animal Magic challenge is still going on at Try It On Tuesday.
Here's a page from my autumn board book with this vintage owl book page.  I created a frame for the page with some torn pieces of wood paper, added some blue plastic "dots" as well as a metal key and tag which I painted with some brown paints to make look a little more worn and vintage. All this is put down on a light brown inked background, which is just peeking out around the owls.
Hope to see you at Try It On Tuesday with some Animal Magic.

And  before I forget. several of you asked if I liked the Downton Abbey movie that I mentioned seeing last post. Yes, I did very much enjoy it. And so did my husband. who can be a tougher critic. It was very well done and a good story also. I guess the only thing I will say is that if you aren't familiar with the show,  skip the film, as it would be hard to pick up who was who. Does it need to be seen in big movie format? No, but it was a lot of fun to watch an extra long episode on the big screen.

And also wishing you a Happy T day.

Thank you for the update on "Downton Abbey - the movie", Erika. We were addicted to the series. So I surely want to see the movie when it arrives here.

Maybe next week at T, you can report on the taste of chocolate sourdough bread. I can't wrap my mind around that combo - lol.

Love your owl page.

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

Oh, that bread looks fabulous! You should post the recipe 😉 The owl page is fun. I like the way the blue dots go with the brown background. I think Downton Abbey left room for a sequel. Nan and I really enjoyed seeing it. As you said, just like watching a long episode. Happy T Day. Stay dry!

LOVE your new banner Erika!!! You are so good at changing it up often-unlike me...
Your bread looks absolutely delicious! Glad I'm seeing it this evening and not an hour from now into tom. AM when I must do a long fast for lots of bloodwork. Love owls and your journal page.
I am so in love with Downton Abbey so of course I will eventually see the movie;)
On a side note, I just watched a PBS special where they visited Wentworth Hotel for an amazing breakfast and was thinking of you - have you ever gone there?
Happy T Day!

I don´t like sweets, but the bread sounds like an interesting idea.
Oh, and the owls. Have you read "Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl" - I loved this tribute.

Wow, chocolate sourdough - I bet it tastes delicious! Your owl page is fabulous too and the way you created the wood frame around the book page looks beautiful 😀. Thanks for the film review, I'm not a fan of Downton Abbey myself although a lot of my friends love it so I was interested to hear your view point, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Wishing you a happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

The bread looks fabulous -- and I forgot to say how much I love your new banner.

I'm with you on the Downton movie. The photography, costumes, sets, perfect; actors true to form and that's top notch. But if you didn't know the show and were just going for plot and such, I thought the plot was terribly weak and would be very confusing if you hadn't seen the series. I loved it, despite that because -- hey, it's Downton! What's not to love. But I don't know I'd recommend it for a novice.

First, that bread looks delicious, Erika especially with cocoa and chocolate chip. We also saw the Downton Abbey film and I disagree with your comment because I never watched the series, but my husband did, and we both enjoyed the film. The story wasn't a continuation of the series, even though the characters were a carryover.I really enjoyed it, but it didnt make me want to go and watch the series.

That's a delicious-looking loaf. yummm! I think I'll have a virtual slice for brunch with my coffee, if I may ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. It's satisfying -or has been to me- when a beloved series gets a movie follow-up. Happy T Tuesday!

That chocolate sourdough bread looks absolutely scrumptious! It's nice to see your kitchen too. I love your German bowl. And your teapot looks like it could double as a kettle too. I had one of those years ago and I used mine on the gas as a kettle.
I hope you are having a wonderful time with your daughter, even though you both have to go to work.
The owls are awesome.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

Who would have thought a pesky squirrel could have sidelined me for over three days. It ate through my phone/internet line and sidelined ME as you probably read. Otherwise I would have been here sooner.

What amazing looking bread. I love bread and I love chocolate, so what is NOT to like, right? I had to laugh at the push aside technique. I've got so many projects going in my craft room right now, I'm doing that myself, even though I normally have a spotless work table. I can truly relate, believe me. I need one of those teapots. I bet it comes in handy because you like tea. It's also very pretty. Thanks for sharing it and your diet drink with us for T this week.

Your owl spread is wonderful. You must have lots of patience to place all those dots so beautifully. It's a lovely, lovely entry and beautiful spread.

I love your spooky blog header image! (That reminds me I made one for Halloween that I was supposed to swap in Oct 1, and I forgot to. I am so far behind with my Halloween plans for the whole month. Ugh.) That chocolate sourdough bread looks delicious. I love your art page with the owl. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Downton Abbey movie. I binge watched the whole series a year or two after the final episode aired. I enjoyed the show, so I would probably like the movie too. Happy Belated T-Day!
