Thursday Art

Hi everyone. It's the last day of my husband's and my getaway, and it is always a little sad when you get to this leg of the trip. You know journey is almost over , and even though you  enjoy the day and what it brings, you're trying to not think too much about the trip home. Travel days are never very fun, especially with covid. Yet it will also be good to get home. I'm ready to see the dogs, sleep in my own bed and make some art!

Today I want to share another journal page for Chris's All Kinds of Weather challenge at Art Journal Journey and also for Leah's AEDM challenge  day 18.

It's a very different take on a rainbow.

In case you can't read the quote, it says "If you want the rainbow, you gotta just put up with rain."
Not that I think this frog minds the rain at all.

I stenciled the the raindrops with blue paint, and then gave the page a spray with some light blue ink. The lily pads are stamped, colored and then outlined. The white flowers are made white with a  pen, and then I added a few small plastic beads into the center. The quote is stamped several times on various spots of the page.

Mr. Frog is stamped, colored and then fussy cut. He has a  bit of sparkly spots and was glued onto the lily pad to cover up the flower.

I'm not posting tomorrow as we have a 6 AM flight home, so I will miss day 19 of Art Every Day Month. I'll visit people's blogs once I get home too.

That's all for me. Thanks for visiting.

Love this page - my King-frogs wave from the balcony, too.
I once had such a frog on a leaf. It sang "raindrops are falling on my head" and that was a shit#y summer! The frog did not lie, LOL.

Welcome home and Blogland 😀 Your fun rainy page is topical also here, it's been raining for many days. Cold weather has been forecasted next week. Let's see if it's snowing!
Have a healthy and happy end of the week 👍😘

I like your rain and rainbow idea Erika, and Mr Frog does look happy to be in it an on his lily pad. Yes end of holidays is always a bit sad plus not looking forward to all the travelling back home, have a safe flight. Happy AEDM Elle/EOTC xx

Well, that is a fun page and I adore Mr Frog sitting on his lily pad.
This morning before I left home i searched and searched for my raindrop stamps but still cannot find them. I think I need your stencil!
Have a safe flight home, yes, the one thing you miss when you go away is your own bed. Luckily with the caravan I regard this as my own as well as the one back home.
Take care
Hugs, Neet xx

Love the saying and the background. B.C. will be seeing tons of rainbows and let's hope that will help. I love Mr. Frog who seems to have had enough rain but so, so cute. Great look. Have a safe journey home.

It's always good to go home, even if the time away has been fabulous. Time to start planning the next trip away, maybe somewhere exotic. The world seems to be slowly opening up. Airline tickets have become very expensive, however, and there seem to be very few seat sales, if any. It's probably good for the planet, but frustrating at the same time!

Travel days can be stressful, especially if delays are involved. Covid doesn't help, either. I hope you make it home safe and sound, dear.

I love your frog and rainbow inspired page. I bet both the frog and the water lilies love the rain. It's cute and clever and so well done. Thanks for another great entry for Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey.

I just read some of your previous posts, Erika, and you and Dave have had a great CA getaway and the beahc scenes were nice to see, but 90 degrees is still a bit too hot for me! Hope you have safe travels back to New England and just in time for Thanksgiving too.

I'll forgive the appearance of the frog as he looks so forlorn and he has such a fabulous place to live ;-) A super page for my 'Whatever the Weather' theme, hugs,Chrisx
