T Stands for A HUGE Cup of Chai Tea

 Hi everyone.

This month is flying, and as usually happens once the weather improves, I have been busy outside doing some spring yard clean up. I've also been able to get back into a regular walking routine. Hurrah for that.

Last week we were suppose to get rain on the day I was meeting my friend, and then the rain stayed south of us, so we managed to walk a chunk of the Dover (NH) Community Trail.  We walked the upper trail which is really pretty as it is up on a high wooded bank above the Cocheco river.

The sound of the rushing of water was really relaxing to hear in the background too; that is when we weren't too busy talking. Smile.

This is also the river whose headwaters are just north of where I live and that I pass when I walk on my road. Here is the same river from one of my morning road walks. I have about a 30 minute drive from my house down to the Dover Trail, so the Cocheco does a lot of growing in that time.

After our walk, my friend and I went and had lunch at a local chain called Tuckers. They are only open until 2 each day, serve breakfast all day and lunch after 11, and use lots of locally sourced ingredients.  They have a big menu too. I ordered a breakfast bowl that of course I forgot to photograph because I was hungry after our 4 mile walk.

The bowl had home fried potatoes, peppers, onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped bacon, 2 eggs, a huge dollop of guacamole (the biggest dollop I've ever seen), cheddar cheese as well as a bit of salsa. It came served with a mini-nan bread. Just writing this is making me hungry again.  My friend had a half of sandwich and salad, and I must say her salad sounded typical on the menu, but when it arrived at our table, it looked so good. Next time we go back to Tuckers I think I will definitely get a salad.

And next time I will remember to take a photo of my food too.

It is T day and time to share a drink related post over at  Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog.

I did remember to get a photo of the chai tea that I ordered at the restaurant, mainly because it came before my meal. This is my favorite version I've tried of chai tea.

And it's absolutely gigantic too. You can also see our waters which what we drank with lunch.

For those of you who know my favorite place to get food in the summer, we drove by Pop's the other afternoon, and I snapped this photo.

No sign of an opening date, but they did take the boards off the windows. It will at least be a month before they open, but it's exciting to see a bit of change in the building. I don't know if lobster rolls will be affordable this summer, but one would certainly taste good now.

I hope everyone has a great T day  and week ahead.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

Both your walk and your lunch sound very good. Walking along a river is so nice, or along any kind of water. I guess that's why I'm always drawn to our lake and of course, the ocean. Lobster rolls - oh, that is so delicious. When I was in Maine 15 years ago I ate lobster rolls whenever possible. Delicious. I hope they won't be too expensive this year so you can enjoy them.

Hello Erika, You have such wonderful spots to enjoy a nice hike or walk-love that. and its very special you have a friend to walk with. I really enjoy walking so a year or so ago Larry saw this lady taking a walk every day in my area. he set it up for us to meet. I enjoyed it but she was allot younger than me, and walked really fast and many miles-I could not keep up with her and didn't want to hold her back. She walks every day no matter the weather-even in the cold winter. I really do need to try walking again though.
Your lunch sounds delicious I would have enjoyed your meal-minus the bread. I have never had a lobster roll-so I enjoy seeing yours Happy T

You are such a tease about those lobster rolls Erika:):) I was hoping to be on a regular walking routine too- but on the weekend it got quite cold with rain and even a bout of freezing rain each day-ugh. It's looking good though from here on in:). Can't blame you for forgetting to stop and take a pic of your breakfast after that long walk. And your chai sounds wonderful. Happy T day!

Oh, I love hearing water. Miss it - but we had hail, so loud I had trouble understanding a colleague - and then he was gone ;-)
Weather in April!
4 miles, yipeeee. Oh, "boy", you make me hungry - we cannot get food like hat here.

And yay for Pop´s being back soon, too.
Have a happy T-day, hugs from here.

You are so lucky to find time to walk four miles. Must be nice to do that with a friend, too. I used to love walking in my neighborhood, but that was before I had so many people to visit on the internet. Now, like you, I am concentrating on a new garden and herbs, too. And, I finally got my taxes filed today. Nothing like waiting till the last minute like I do every year.

I also have forgotten to take photos of my meal. I love how you remembered to show your Chai tea and water, though. They make a great addition to T this Tuesday, dear Erika.

Glad you were able to walk that lovey trail and enjoy a good meal afterwards, walking always makes you hungry. Hope Pop's soon opens for you! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

Gorgeous walk pictures! You need to get a least 1 lobster roll just to show us and to celebrate lobster roll season. I heard there is a food truck that shows up around here that has them but I keep hearing about it 2 weeks after it comes - I am going to get one if I am ever in sinc with the news of its arrival - lol. Not sure a lobster roll in Alabama would even be close to one where you live but I am game.

Love your tea picture.

Happy T-day and hugz to you, Erika!

Here you go again, teasing us with the prospect of a lobster roll. I hope for your sake that it is affordable. After all, everything has gone up since Covid.
Your walk looks idyllic. And a hearty brunch after that sounds perfect!
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

The photos from your hike are beautiful. It certainly looks like a place to relax and just enjoy the quiet. A meal sounds like the perfect ending to a hike. Your chai tea is exactly what I would order. Chai tea is the best!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

If I ever get to NH in the summer, we are going to Pop's. And having a lobster roll! (And that was quite a lunch--you must have been stuffed!)
