Hi everyone. It's once again time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday.
Before I get to that, I want to introduce the 2 new members of our design team. First I want to welcome Pia who you might recognize from her blog Papir og Perler (Paper and Beads for those of us who don't read Norwegian). Secondly I also want to welcome Viv who you might recognize from her blog Viv's Visuals. It's wonderful to have them join our team!
And I also want to thank everyone who joined us for our All You Need Is Love challenge. I also want to say thanks to Lorraine for being our guest host for our last challenge.
And now for the new challenge, which is right up my alley, but also a little tricky too.
Let's Get Messy
I stepped out of my usual journaling mode and made 2 cards for this challenge. This first one you see is the one I linked up to the Try It on Tuesday blog because I thought it was a bit messier.
I used some pre-cut card sized watercolor backgrounds and bright watercolor paints. On my first card I used various colors and watercolored the entire background before outlining with a pen, stamping the smile word and also adding some tiny white flowers that are meant to be used in a shaker card. I think they work great as a little embellishment. I didn't photograph the inside of my card before I sent it out, but I wrote in, when life gets messy, be sure to smile.
My other card had a monotone watercolored background with stamped images. I then used my watercolors to paint in the flowers and leaves. I did use a white paint pen on the center of the flowers. The words came from a stamp with lots of words on it, and I also added more of those little shaker card flowers.
I used to make a lot of cards, but that was years ago. It can definitely be a different process from art journaling, and I should make more of them because it forces me to think about what exactly I want to say .
And for more messy art (grin), be sure to check out what the other design team members created for this challenge.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you'll get messy and join us at Try It On Tuesday for our latest challenge.

I love your "messy"!!! A hint of Spring.
Love it.
Welcome to the new members and your pages are lovely.
Messy is good. I LOVE your cards. They are really well done.
Your cards are absolutely gorgeous, Erika, love them! Hugs, Valerie
I need to see something this cheery and pretty today! Thanks!
Very pretty pinks! Perfect for the upcoming season!
I’m finally figuring something out that has plagued me, I think. Are you one person but known online as…BioArtGal, Fat Emma, and Erika? For a longtime I’ve been confused, thought you were three people! 😂
I do like your cards, they look great.
All the best Jan

You did an amazing job on both cards Erika, the colours on each are so vibrant and the tiny flowers are such a sweet addition.. are they stamped and cut out? I hope you will think about making more again now, great designs.
I do like making cards, just wish I had more time to make them..
Hugs Tracey xx
2 bright colored cards in cheerful colors. Smile is a very fitting sentiment for your TioT card, it’s exactly what it does, brings a smile to our faces
Love these cards Erika, the one you linked to TioT really shouts out 'happy' to me with it's bright flowers.
Love the second one too, such gorgeous colours.
Avril xx
